Scared of bath
I know others have gone through suddenly being scared of the bath. Oliver is now terrified and cries as soon as I put him in. I tried getting in with him and it didn't make a difference. Anyone found anything that works? I'm gonna try a shower tomorrow.

Try tub crayons. They helped distract my daughter.

When Ava first came home she was scared the first few times I put her in the big tub so I bathed her in the kitchen sink. A little extra work bc I disinfected it before and after but it works nicely. Got a suggestion to say her name and the word splash before putting water on her. So I always say,"Splashy, Splashy, splashy," in my silliest voice and splash the water over her. She hates her face getting wet but it's working and she laughs each time. Now if she would stay seated and stop scaring me with her falls all would be well. Best of wishes with your cutie!

Thanks ladies if the shower doesn't work I'll try the kitchen sink. He used to love the tub but I noticed over the past week he has gradually been getting a little anxious and fussing and suddenly Thursday he was just terrified and same thing yesterday. ?

We just took a break and continued bathing him in the baby bath for a few weeks. We tried again and he loved it again.

I've been through this an d it was awful! I kept putting him in every night still and kept persistent with it and he eventually snapped out of it, I felt bad because of how upset he was getting but I just stayed calm and tried different things to distract him because when I was getting stressed over it he was getting worse, I think it was just a phase because now he loves the bath again he doesn't like getting out

My swim group calls it the water wobbles. It's just a developmental change in the brain. Showed or sink or sponge bath for awhile until they get over it

Thanks guys! Did the shower last night and he was definitely scared and kept saying "bye" and pointing to the door to get out. Clung to me with a death grip but didn't cry and wasn't as bad as the bath tub. I think we will just do that when he's real dirty and do sponge baths until it passes. I am gonna get the crayons too for encouraging baths. Maybe we can play in there without water. He loves regular crayons. Thanks guys! I'm so glad it's normal cause I was worried i did something at first ?

Grayson magically is afraid of them as well. But I've noticed if I give him s bath when he's in a really good mood and just woke up he's fine. He likes to sit in the tub while I shower oddly enough

Got him in the tub with the crayons last night. Wouldn't sit down but that's a start! No crying. Thanks!
