Feeling so discouraged ? UPDATE*****

I had my d&c almost 5 weeks ago and I've been bleeding/spotting the ENTIRE TIME. lately it's been mostly brown with stringy mucous like things. Hcg was 18 last Friday. Will get a redraw this Friday. I feel like I'm never gonna stop bleeding and my poor body is gonna be out of whack forever. I'm almost 35 and I feel like my time is running out. Anyone have a similar situation and then out ok?

***** UPDATE- Had quant yesterday. Down to 6. STILL NOT NEGATIVE!!! Spoke with a different dr yesterday cause my dr wasn't there. She said it can take 6 weeks for bleeding to stop and since my levels are dropping significantly it's most likely fine. Apparently my body takes a LONG time to clean out I guess. After my son I bled for 8 weeks which she remembered and said my body just takes its time. They will scan me if the bleeding doesn't stop a couple weeks after my levels get to less than 3 which they consider negative. Actually the spotting is much lighter so I'm hoping soon!

Thank you ? I hope you get your af soon. Right now I just want to stop the spotting and gross mucous stuff so we can just bd and I can start to feel normal again. I just wish my dr would've discussed more about what the recovery was going to be like. I know everyone is different but all he said was it'll be less than a period. Obviously not!!!

I think doctor's should explain more too! They totally do not prepare you for what can happen. I'll be 34 on Friday and had similar issues. I miscarried in September and this is my first normal cycle. I'd stop bleeding for a few weeks and then randomly start again. Had pink sporting with mucus too (even just last month). I hope that your body returns to normal soon! It takes such an emotional toll, and is a constant reminder of what you've lost ?

Also, my doctor never told me that your scabs from D&C can fall off ? I started bleeding pretty heavily, and went to the ER. They had no idea what was going on at the ER, and it turned out to be a wasted trip?

I'm so sorry for your loss sweetpea. ?? I'm glad to know that what I'm going through isn't completely unheard of. Yes I had much heavier bleeding about a week after the d&c and had to take cytotec to cramp my uterus down because it was just pouring out. I guess I'm just frustrated cause most everything I read says that people bled for a week or 2 and then all was normal. I hope your cycles are back to normal now. I am ok with having to wait a couple months to get pregnant again but I'm just so scared that it won't happen.

I didn't have a D&C so I can't really comment on the recovery but towards the end of my bleeding it was just light brown tinged mucous too so I have my fingers crossed for you that it's almost done!

I'm also 34 and I was told that I have low ovarian reserve and would most likely go through menopause at around 35, so I'm really hoping we can find one more good egg in time! ??

I hear you! Docs definitely don't explain enough. I kinda though that once they do a DnC there's maybe a couple days of bleeding so when I bled and bled for 3 weeks I was like wtf?? And then on US had retained tissue and saga continued cuz I needed two rounds of miso to pass the tissue.... All in all about 5-6 weeks of bleeding and spotting. It was a really rough couple of month... I cried almost every day wondering when it would stop ?

I'm 36, almost 37... But I got pregnant again - it took a few months but I'm hoping this is my ???

Thanks for the support ladies. I'm really starting to get down about it and I'm always thinking about TTC again. I go back in Friday for a blood draw and I'm gonna ask again if there is anything I should be concerned about.

Penneflower - I really feel for you. I had a D&C years ago and bled for about 5 1/2 weeks. I got pregnant right after my first AF.

Hang in there - you really are on the home stretch now. The worst is over ?

@prycero thank you ☺ It makes me feel better to know that you also bled for this long and everything was fine in your situation. And you even got prego so fast! Hopefully that will be my case but I'm prepared for it to take awhile. I love this group. Thank you all.

It must be so frustrating that it's taking so long, but you've come this far and the end is so close now. Then you can reset and move forward xx

You're almost there girl - couple days and your hpt should be negative. After that AF is just around the corner but who knows - you may get lucky and never get one! FX
