Sour poop?

So my boy started going poop like every 3-4 days instead of daily. We ebf and no solids yet. Dr said it was fine that he goes this often as it doesn't seem to bother him. But when he does go now it's a lot thicker than it used to be- not solid but less watery which I figure is probably normal. It's still yellow but it smells awful now. Like a sour smell and it used to hardly smell at all. Does this happen to anyone else?

He just went again and it is definitely a vinegar smell. So weird.

We had the same thing happening here. It never smelled bad before. I googled this exact thing lmao

Wow thank goodness for this post as I was wondering the same this last week too!  And LO definitely has more saliva as well.  So thanks for the explanation!

Oh that makes sense! We definitely have A LOT of excessive saliva going on here lol.

Yes we have the vinegar sour smell too! It's because of excess saliva and it changes pH! Totally normal!

I drink orange juice whenever I see my little girl needs the toilet she usually goes after a few hours of feeding x

Connors started doing this the past 2 weeks he poos every 3-4 days, we had one yesterday exactly how you described! Glad it's not just me

I compare it to sour cake batter there is a gross sweet smell to it, it didn't smell the first 2ish months

My ebf lo is the same. Sour and kinda smells like vinegar but definately sour! Started him on a probiotic a few weeks ago to help his reflux and its also helpin him poop a little more often.

It's so weird cause it started maybe 2 weeks ago and I haven't changed my diet or anything.

My daughter is pretty much EBF (she gets formula once and awhile if we go out) and only poops once a week. And it's really runny, orange/yellowish, and smells like sour milk, not like poop.
