Prayers needed
I don't usually do this, but yesterday my son was admitted to the hospital after getting a cold from his brother. When we got to the emergency, he was not breathing and had to be rescuisitated. It turns out he has rsv and had to be transferred to a pediatric hospital. We are not sure how long he will be kept, but we are a complete wreck.
Needing all the prayers we can get! Our little boy was born 11/29/18 at 2:23 pm via C-Section. He wasn’t breathing when we was born and was air lifted to a children’s specialist hospital. I’m stuck at our local hospital till I’m released then we will go to the children’s hospital and be there with our baby till we can bring him home. All we know is one of his lungs has a hole in it and bc he went without oxygen so long he has to do a cold blanket for three days and then we should know more.
Hmm. I liked Kellan or Talon for a boy. But he hated it. And we never had an argument about girl names. 🤷🏻 ♀
So I had my baby at 12:46am but I’m asking for prayers or any good vibes sent my baby & my way. I had to have an emergency csection (never had one before either so still freaking out that I had one) because my placenta abrupted & now they transferred my baby to another hospital to give him care that this hospital doesn’t provide since he can not breathe on his own and he is going to be getting blood transfusions as well & they are saying it can go either way for my baby and I’m literally heartbroken and had no where to let out this except to you mommies on here that have been so helpful and supportive and positive to me.. I’m sharing a picture of him but he is hooked up to machines.. please keep my baby in your good thoughts & that he’ll pull through.. the most traumatizing experience I’ve ever had & I’m so worried about my little baby..
Hi Moms and Moms-to-be, @Simpsonv54 's son is 3-months old and is in the hospital for the fourth time. Her family is currently at the Children's Hospital of Atlanta and has an urgent request for help and advice. These are her words: - Ok mommies, I need advice from anyone who may have had a similar situation as ours. Both us and my son's Dr's here at children's are at a loss as to what could be going on with him. Here is our story! At nine weeks old, on September 17th my son started running fevers, was very fussy, not sleeping well, and high white blood cell count. he was admitted and given antibiotics for two days. all lab work came back fine and we were sent home with a diagnosis of possible virus. he went back to his normal self until October 1st when he started with all the same symptoms again. he was given antibiotics again and after a four day stay was sent home and we were told he prob just got another virus. October 12th the symptoms returned and again we were admitted, this time for five days and given two days of antibiotics. he received a full work up but they were unable to find anything. he went back to his normal self and we went home with no answers. Then yesterday October 21st early morning his symptoms returned and we were admitted again. The dr's have done all sorts of tests but arent sure where else to look. the day before each episode begins he sleeps alot more than usual, then right before I check his temp he starts where he will barelly eat anything, he gets fussy, and cant sleep well, and then the fevers start. the episodes last 24-36 hours and then he returns to normal. each time his white blood cell count is elevated, its gone all the way to 33,000. we are currently in childrens of atlanta and this is our fourth Hosptial stay in just over a month. the dr's say he is a mystery and they've done all sorts of tests to figure out what might be causing these episodes to keep returning. if any mommies can relate with our experience or have any suggestions for us or his dr's please comment. we are so ready to go home and enjoy our son instead of living in a hospital. This is basically what happened to me, as you know from ig. The doctors suspect is was rsv despite her testing negative upon admission. They said sometimes they can test positive later on but she was better so they didn't retest. Have faith your little one with get through it ❤️❤️❤️ i know how hard it is to watch them go through hospitalization. We had many scary moments with our little one. She was literally drowning in mucus and would not have survived if we had been at home. Thank god we were in the hospital so they could help us. We spent a week there and are home now. She is acting like a normal newborn again so I have faith your little one will do the same ?? he is in the best place right now and once he fights it off he will be back home with you in your arms. Keep us updated, we are all thinking of you.

Awe poor baby, I'm so sorry you both have to go through this. It is horrible when all you want to do is be home. Stay strong. I'm glad he's showing some improvements,keep us updated

Ana, he is still on the ventilators, but they are beginning to introduce food back to him slowly, which is a good sign. He had had some instances where he fights the ventilator, but it is getting a bit better. Thanks for checking in on us. I appreciate your support ladies *hugs*

Prayers for your little one. My sons had this 3 years ago when he was less than 30 days old it was bery traumatic and he was in the hospital for 2 weeks. I just wanted to let all of the mommas know that rsv can happen again its not a one time thing. My son who is three just got it again a couple of months ago although it was not as severe he was still admitted and stayed 3 days in the hospital.

Jess, I am so sorry that happened to you as well. I wouldn't wish this on anyone. I know this year RSV is a HUGE problem for the hospitals. Luckily you can only get it once.

I went through this exact same thing last week, same symptoms, brings tears to my eyes reading this. It's extremely scary!! I pray your little one feels better soon!! Thankfully my little guy recovered quickly, he was released from the children's NICU in 3 days. Hang in there mama, keep us updated.

My friends twins have this as well, one of her babies got sent to the children's hospital the other is at the local hospital. It's been a week and the one at the children's hospital barely opened his eyes, I guess she waited a while to take him in. it's been in the news more and more babies going into ER for it. It's crazy to me, this is my third baby (oldest is 8)and I've never heard of it. My kids go back to school tomorrow I'm really hoping they don't bring any colds home. Your baby will get better, stay faithful and calm.

Ana, it's just like a really bad cold. It affects babies differently. We could tell something was seriously wrong when he wouldn't nurse and in turn would not pee. He screamed for hours straight and then all of a sudden he stopped and was extremely lethargic. The most troubling sympton was him going extremelu pale all of a sudden. The pediatrician advised me to go to urgent care and they wanted me to go to the er immediately so he could be monitored.
