Breast milk for congestion?

My daughter has a cold and is having difficulty sleeping because of the congestion. The nose frida helps, but a friend suggested using breast milk instead of saline drops to loosen the congestion. Anyone heard of this?

I used it on her last night again-she slept (for the first time in 3 days) from 7:30-3:30! Her breathing was much clearer. I seem to have caught the ick from her, so I may just try it on myself.

My LO had a stuffy nose. We used saline drops and nose frida. 2 hours later she woke up crying. :(. We changed her and put drops of breast milk in her nose. She slept through after that. I think it may help ease inflammation of the sinuses and allow for easier breathing. It seriously helped that fast.

They make a baby Vicks... I used it on the feet as well. Worked great

My mom swears by that as well, genty, but I was unsure if it was safe since she's only 5 months. I'll try that as well. The milk was very effective in loosening the snot.

I would just put a few drops in while he was sleeping and it cleared up his stuffiness by the end of the day ?

Good to know. I think I'm going to try it. I feel so frustrated for her.

I did when my son was a newborn and it worked wonders.
