Lizzette, it's a different kind of pain if that makes any sense. With my c section, I hurt everywhere and was so restricted, it was hard. With the tear, the pain is concentrated and at times intense, but it's manageable. My tear is a 2nd degree tear, so fairly mild. I have a lot of pressure and I have to watch the way I sit, but I can function normally throughout the day.
I will say this, too...Ice packs are your best friend! I took some of the ice pack pads from the hospital, but I also bought a big bag of cheap maxi pads and I soak them and freeze them in zip locks and put them on top of my regular pad. It makes sitting much easier! (You can also buy some of the hospital ones on Amazon, but I'm cheap. ?)

Good luck with your VBAC! It is definitely worth it.

I'm glad to hear it ladiee! I couldn't believe the difference in the two births! I feel so much better this time (even with the pain from the tear) and we were home less than 48 hours after birth. I know the epidural isn't for everyone (I actually had a saddle block), but it was perfect for me-I actually was smiling and enjoyed my daughter being born!

You can totally do it-at the least its worth a try! And like my husband kept telling me, as long as our baby is born, your body did its job, no matter how she comes out! That view made it easier to just go through the process and not stress as much about everything being perfect!

I had to really mentally prepare myself. I was so afraid of tearing and so afraid that it would end up the same way my son's birth did. I had to focus on the positives and on my strengths. I was blessed to have a very supportive group of OBs who did whatever they could to make it a success.

I'm so happy everything worked out so well! Was there anything specific you did to prepare for a vbac?
