Same as @hides I believe they started it around 3 years old. My pedi have never done it or offered it though only the dentist

I agree to them however the dentist they didn't start doing it until he was around 3 or 3 and a half. Dental visits until then just involved a quick check to get him used to going.

My dentist hasn’t offered yet at 2.5, but I would probably decline. I don’t give him fluoride toothpaste yet either.

I'm a dentist and here in Europe we dont give it to such young children. A normal toddler toothpaste should contain about 500-750 ppm fluoride and that's enough. Since toddlers tend to swallow toothpaste instead of spit it out properly we dont give them extra because studies show that the benefits are minimal and it's bad for the overall health.

We did it i was just wondering what everyone else was doing. We didn't have a chance to research anything but we figured at the very least one treatment couldn't hurt.

She has at least 11 teeth and a bunch coming in as we speak. Her teeth have always been super early it seems ?

@pp maybe they only offered because of how many teeth age had? I'm unsure of what the normal age is to offer this.

My side of the family also has terrible teeth when it comes to cavities so that's another reason we did it.

Our Pediatrician does it every visit. He said it’s to help prevent cavities, so yep we do it. My son still fights tooth brushing about half the time, so anything to help prevent cavities. He’s 21 months and has gotten it the last couple visits.

Yes. It's not a dangerous amount, and I don't believe it's put in water to brain control ?or whatever the reasons people are paranoid of it. Teeth care is extremely important.

We have well water, so we always do it at the dentist. If you don’t have it in your water and haven’t taken lo to the dentist yet, I would do it.

We did but it was at the dentist and she was 2.5 years old. Seems unnecessary for a 16 month old especially since they don't have all their teeth.

We did just because we didn't know how long it would be before he could see a dentist with our insurance... But I skipped it once we saw the dentist since his teeth were healthy. We have fluoride in our water, so don't really want to over do it... I have researched it much though.
