tell me how you felt when....
You weaned your baby from breastfeeding. Even if it was before the first year was over. When did you wean? Why? And did you have mixed emotions? Please.
Relieved but sad at the same time. My plan was for a year only but she wasn't ready to let go. I had to force wean at 17 months when I found out I was preggo again. It was just to painful and I felt like she was sucking the life out of me, I was exhausted in my first trimester. She was still feeding multiple times a day almost using me as a pacifier. But even before then I was over bf, she got to the point where she would pull my shirt down and help herself no matter where we were, the pregnancy was my breaking point. I had to stop cold turkey and it was the best decision ever lol, I do miss the connection though
I started replacing a feeding with one sippy cup of the fortified milk and he LOVED feeding himself. He didn't miss nursing at all. Then I bumped up to two sippy cups a day per doc recommendation and that went well. She never told me to stop breastfeeding, but I was loving the freedom and he was doing so well. I just progressed from there, letting him guide me. If he had seemed stressed I would have slowed down and breastfed longer. I dropped the morning and bedtime feedings last.
Nope. I was ready, he was ready. He took it really well, there was no acting out and he didn't seem stressed. I took my time with it. I needed to start fortifying pumped milk at 7mos due to weight gain issues and weaned over the next 2mos. By going slowly it was physically easy on me too.
@waffles did you regret weaning early? I'm considering it after her 9m appointment but have many mixed emotions about it
Just curious..
When did you ladies first have sex? I had just turned 18 when I did.
How old were your babies when you started weaning?

Moms,
What was the first thing you did when you found out you were pregnant👶🏽? We're working on a new blog post and possible video, and we would love to hear from you. Did you jump for joy, were you shocked or did you start dreaming of you baby. Please leave your responses in the comments below. If you have photos, please post them too.
Thanks!

What year did you graduate high school?
I had mixed emotions with my first. He would happily accept a bottle occasionally so I never felt tied down with him. He gradually lost interest in breastfeeding and was fully weaned by 1.
My second was 1.5 and I was so ready to be done. She never accepted a bottle and nursing was her comfort so my life revolved around my boobs day and night. It felt great to be free!
Neither of my kids ever got sick while breastfeeding but started getting the normal childhood illnesses shortly after weaning. I felt so bad every time they got sick!
