i don't know pain??? what
SO has had a migraine for almost 3 days. I understand how painful they are. He's angry his doctor won't do anything about them so he's projecting his anger onto me. He made the comment "you don't know what kind of pain I'm in"
deleted-user·
I'm sure you expected uderstanding when you were in labour. I'd cut him some slack.
deleted-user·
Hey I'm on his side lol. Dh always tells me "It's just a headache" B!tch migraines are of the f*cking devil!!! I'd rather go through labor 500 times than get a migraine. I get them often too it sucks soo much!
deleted-user·
I HATE when they compare. Not once have I ever done that during either of my pregnancies ?

Oh yes, tooth pain is unbearable no doubt. Especially with infection. Been there. My wisdom teeth are awful about random infections. To where I can't even open my mouth.
deleted-user·
I've seen several news stories about people ending their lives over severe toothaches that drove them insane.

My so bad 2 teeth pulled, his 2 wisdom, and a molar that the wisdom tooth had broke in half. He was in pain always. He made that same comment to me. I said the same thing. Granted my son was 6.11. Then when he got them pulled he said his pain compares to that of breaking my arm, and having surgery. I so bad wanted to hit him. Like for real? My arm was shattered, bones shifting EVERY time I moved for 6 days. ??????

I gave birth to an 8lb child and had a kidney infection not long ago. I would rather do labor again. I was going septic from my kidney infection and seriously felt like I was dying

I do have to say I have been in so much pain the last couple days that I have lashed out. I couldn't even help it, it was like I wasn't me
deleted-user·
Women lash out in labor too. Pain makes people angry
deleted-user·
I have been sick for the last couple days and have been having body aches so I told my husband how bad it hurt and he said I don't even know what pain is. He was joking because he saw me give birth med free to 4 babies.
deleted-user·
If he has a bad migraine, I really wouldn't be taking it personally or going into comparing it to vaginal birth. Migraines can drive you crazy.

Lol @mrsnorbury I'll probably bring him water and aspirin in like an hour anyway ? i can't just not help him
deleted-user·
Side note, the fact that he isn't eating or drinking could be contributing to prolonging the migraine. I completely understand how even water can make you want to throw up but it's really important that he stays hydrated. Just try and ignore him being rude, don't take it personally for the time being, and once he feels better then talk to him about it if it's still bothering you.
deleted-user·
Id just leave him be. I agree that migraines are awful, and he isn't thinking clearly with the way he is talking to you, but if he's going to be a jerk, he can get his own dang water ?

@skate he's never lashed out before. I've had a migraine before. A long time ago and it was the only one I've ever had. I was vomiting from the pain. I remember how terrible it was.
He's normally so appreciative when i care take him during his migraines. But he had just gotten off the phone with his doctors office and they're not working with him to help him and he's frustrated and i get how frustrating it can be when a doctor won't work with you. And he lashed out after i made a simple non aggressive comment.
I'm over it. I'm not expecting an apology because i know he's in pain. In the moment i was annoyed and posted this.
deleted-user·
I agree with skate. I get very angry during a migraine. There are times I seriously want to just stab something through my head in hopes it will help. I get at least one a month
deleted-user·
I'm starting to think, maybe you don't understand the type of pain he's in. That kind of pain, absolutely will absolutely cause some people to lash out. During a migraine it's not just a bad headache. You can't think, you can't do anything. It's like every sense you have is maxed out. Even you talking to him probably feels like an ice pick it being driven into his head. He can't help his reaction. That's how bad that pain is.... now, does he owe you an apology once he's better? Hell yeah he does.

It's not like I'm asking him to get out of bed I'm just asking that he not yell at me when i go in to bring him water and ask him to drink it. He can't just not drink or eat for 3 days and expect it to get better.
The comment leading up to his anger was " i really hope this is gone by tomorrow"(he has an interview tomorrow) and he yelled "no sh*t so do i. You don't know the pain I'm in."
Um whoa. I'm pretty sure that was unnecessary.

I get migraine frequently for days at a time that give me diahrea and cause me to throw up constantly. I'd much rather be in labor again than go through migraines
deleted-user·
I used to get migraines and though I still think labor was worse, I can't imagine having one for three days ?
I would cut him some slack. He shouldn't be taking his frustration out on you but understand he's in a lot of pain.
deleted-user·
I get that the anger is annoying, but let it be. It's not a pain competition.

I hope he feels better too but he doesn't have to lash out when I'm trying to help him. That was kind of my point...
deleted-user·
Comparing our pain to one another's isn't helpful. Labor being worse than a migraine doesn't make his migraine any less painful for him. I hope your husband feels better.
deleted-user·
I would prefer to go through labor again, before having a true migraine. The types of pain truly don't compare, but at least I semi function after labor and can drink water, read, or do anything other than avoid all stimulus. The same can't be said for migraines.
deleted-user·
As much as migraine SUCKK, I to had a 9lb bowling ball tear me a new one. I would laugh so hard in his sensitive little ears if he said I didn't understand his pain. Tell him to go sit in a dark room.
deleted-user·
It's so crazy. Even if you've been through similar things, they just believe their life is so much worse. God forbid you get the same cold because "you don't understand I'm dying". Yeah pretty sure I'm sick with the same thing and still took care of the kids and did the laundry too.

Well i know he's genuinly in pain. He'll lay in a dark room with an ice pack on his head for days without eating or moving much. But it's annoying for him to project his anger onto me when I'm just trying to help. ?

The 3 day migraine I got during my mc was so bad I'd rather have been in labor again. I God honestly thought I was going to die.

Men!
My husband had a stomach ache yesterday and laid out of work. Then he never even got out of our bed. All day. Because his stomach was upset. ?

Men sometimes ?
