*UPDATE in comments* low milk supply help
The past 3-4 days have been a nightmare. For whatever reason, I'm not sure, my supply has gone way down during the day and is decent at night. Dd cries after latching for only a couple minutes. And I'll re latch and same thing happens. It becomes a vicious cycle. Her diapers have been less but still within an acceptable range. I've tried everything. Eating more. Drinking more. I even tried pumping but that seems to make it much worse. I really don't want to stop bf. I started drinking mother's milk tea yesterday, nothing's changed yet.
Unfortunately I felt the need to give her a bottle of expressed milk about an hour ago. Her soft spot was very sunken in and I was worried she was dehydrated. She was beside herself upset until giving her the bottle. I pumped while she ate. And I'm going to do a few of the suggested dietary changes. Thank you ladies. Hopefully be able to make it to my goal of bf for a year.
Edit- she's also having some serious teething pain. At times she's not happy unless she's chewing on my finger. I know 10w is early for teething bit I can't think of any other reason she's want to chew my finger so much.
Your milk supply can drop when you start working out because it dehydrates you, try drinking a lot more water. Try some Gatorade too. I drank 3-4 cups a day of the mothers milk tea and noticed a difference within two days. I also ate lots of oatmeal and I put flax seed in it, I put flax seed and oatmeal in all of my smoothies. I noticed it helps a lot drinking lactation smoothies every morning for breakfast whenever my LO is going through a growth spurt to help keep my supply up. Good luck! I hope you figure everything out
Magpie did it get better? Did your baby get back to feeding ever few hours? Or did you just adjust to constant feeding?
This happened to me, I just stuck it out and fed him as often as he wanted, even every 10 minutes. Started when he was just a few weeks old. It was horrible for the week or so. But I'm still bfing at 10 months! I tried to not let the worry and anxiety get to me, because that was terrible! And I'm sure it was making my supply decrease at the time.
What kind of dark beer? I know nothing about beer. Just 1 at dinner? I seriously want to cry when she's this upset. I have no one else to talk to, no one in my family ever breastfed so they just tell me to use formula. I know I can do this I just need some help. Just now she cried herself to sleep in my arms after finishing off my let down. ?
My supply plummeted after I had a uterine infection with fever, and we already had to supplement temporarily because DD was jaundice. My supply dropped drastically, but I've been able to get it back up. Here's what I did:
*Lots of Gatorade and water
*Upspring Milk flow capsules (they have fenugreek and blessed thistle in them... take 2 3x a day)
*Dark beer with dinner
*Pump after feedings to empty breast completely
*Nurse as much as baby wants!!!
And try not to panic. Stress and anxiety prevent let down, which I found was our problem after awhile when DD got fussy, not my supply. Don't get frustrated when she pulls away... take deep breaths and relax. I know how hard this is, but it's not the end if you don't want it to be. ?
And the issues seem to start after the morning wake-for-the-day feed(8-9)
We don't use bottles unless I'm away from her which is rare. Maybe once every couple weeks. She's for the most part ebf. The past two month have been so great with my supply and ask of a sudden we hit this bump. I used to pump one bottle a day and would get 3-4oz to have an emergency supply. But now I can barely get 1oz. And pumping that one oz threw her off the whole rest of the day(10am pumping) and so I stopped pumping..... And now we're still having issues and I can't even pump to help create demand.
There is likely nothing wrong with your supply. It may have regulated.
Your supply is lowest late afternoon and early evening. Babies can get fussy during this time because it's a lot more work.
I used gel heating pads and applied them to my breast before nursing dd. the heat helps the milk flow faster. Also nursing after a hot shower ??
Takes a couple of weeks but lo will settle down and get used to it.
Your supply is highest between midnight and 4am.
Do you give bottles? Baby could be getting used to the ease of a bottle and be getting fussy at the slower flow of your breasts.
Remember, how much you pump is not a reflection of your supply. Baby can pull milk more efficiently than any pump ever could.
That's what is in the tea I drink and it's not doing much
My supply is low and I have to go out of town next Sunday. I have tried mother's milk tea and pumping every two hours as well as drinking tons of water. What can I do ? I know I won't make enough milk by then!

anyone have luck with this tea i hardly get any milk supply I've already tried oatmeal 😫
i feel bad my milk supply will not go back up im taking three fenugreek a day drinking gatrode and pumping and latching him on
Opinions on hungrier baby milk? My girl is drinking well over 30 oz in 24 hours. I tried her with water inbetween feeds but she just won't settle in till she has milk as she's hungry not thirsty. She's awake like 18 hours a day 😭
I just tried grass fed organic milk..... I think i have been drinking wayyyy processed milk for too long because i think i just taisted the grass in the milk like it realllyy is grassy milk and dont know why i didnt like it 🤔am I supposed to boil before drinking it?
UPDATE- Apparently my body was gearing up for my period. And I guess that made my supply drop. But thank you all for the help. It's getting better slowly but surely.
