snooping help I'm not good at it
So when my lo was born SO and I told everyone not to post pictures to their social media accounts. My sister agreed to that. But when she was a month old I sent a picture to the whole family through text(not everyone has a Facebook). I don't post pictures of my dd to much. Just once every now and then. And they are private to certain people. For safety reasons.
@ nxm I probably should just talk to her. I feel like she would lie to me though. She lies to my parents allll the time and tells her son to lie to them about things she does. But it's worth a shot of it means my daughter's safety.
I totally get where you're coming from. I'm the same way. I'm unsure that she'd accept strangers' friend requests or accounts that look fake. I honestly think you should have a very candid conversation with her about it. Some people are not aware of what could happen when you expose baby pics to the world. I used specific examples of pedophiles being able to find kids' location through photos & also of kid pics showing up on porn sites to my sister who didn't get it. She fully understands now & respects my wishes. Good luck.
And in general I just like having control over what photos of dd are posted. For example I'd never post any kind of photo she would be embarrassed of when she's 16. But my sister wouldn't care out think twice about it.
@squishy it's fine lol your back and forth is pretty funny. I'm a private person when it comes to pictures. I rarely post pictures of me. Never post pictures of SO and I. I only post a few photos of dd because I don't live near my family. My sister in the otherwise will post/share/and say ANYTHING online with no concern of how she is portraying herself(employers/potential employers check this type of stuff). She posts the most intimate details of her life witch is most definitely her own business. But I'm not that way and I'll step in once she disrupts my privacy. I just wish she wouldn't shut me out because of my concerns.
I know everyone is different, but I don't see the issue. My sister has posted sooo many pics of my kids. Every time we are together she adds tons of snap chats of them lol. My kids are awesome and hilarious and I have no problem with any family sharing pics or silly videos of them. ? I don't have fb anymore so no one outside of family ever sees new pics of my kids anyway lol. I don't know. I would just be proud and happy that she loves my kid so much. That's how I see it with my sister.
I'm sorry for taking over your post! My sister and I were definitely not always close. ? I wish I could put my self in your shoes and for a split second I thought, maybe it was wrong that I posted a picture of my niece. My sister is very private and we're almost complete opposite too. I would absolutely never post her kids though, if she was not comfortable.
@cawasa @squishy, I wish my sister and I were close like the both of you. We're much too different. There's also a major age gap.
Sounds like she blocked you, along with your family. Not much you can do. Yeah, you can create a fake account and try to get her to add you, but you're answering immature with immature imo.
Personally, I would call or talk to her in person. Tell her how hurt you are, explain your reasons for the rule, and see if you can work it out. If she's not receptive or apologetic, tell her she will have to be excluded from future photos for not respecting your wishes as you are the parent.
I didn't have an attitude when asking her to take it down. I simply said can you please remove her picture from your cover photo. It's a safety issue and it makes me uncomfortable. Please tell me how that is having an attitude.
Her lo is ten. She's a baby kind of person. Loves all babies and want everything to do with them but when it comes to kids... Nope nothing. And my baby is the only one in the family right now and she's gone overboard with it since we announced the pregnancy. Don't get me wrong I'm happy my child has family that lives her more than anything but I just wish she would respect my rules.
She's 36 @arron. But what does her age have to do with any of this?
@arron I totally understand your point. Yes I know she loves my daughter and wouldn't intentionally put her in harm's way. But the issue I have is I've asked her not to post her, she did it anyway, and has an attitude after I asked her to take it down. Then proceeds to hide everything from me so I can only assume she has something to hide. I have set a limit for the family and she took it upon herself to not respect it.
The other thing is, she has her own child. Why would she post mine as her cover photo instead of her own child.
I don't think you're over reacting about the cover photo what so ever. It's your child, your rules. Simple as that. I wouldn't care if someone wants to show their proud of my child, if I'm not comfortable with whatever they're doing then they don't get to do it. As for not being able to see what she posts, I'm not sure. If another family member can't see stuff either she could have deactivated her Facebook.
I dunno...i feel like you're over reacting slightly about the cover photo thing. I don't think she's doing it to put her in harms way it sounds as if she just loves her niece and is like heyyy look how beautiful she is!? my sister has my DS as her cover photo too and i thought it was sweet. i totally get your concern with safety though and no means no. could you maybe ask your SO or one of your friends to check her facebook? I wouldn't get too worked up about it though!
She's always been a 'pour your heart out' on Facebook kinda person and I know that didn't just stop.
The only mutual friends are family and my SO. I asked one family member I trust and she couldn't see anything either. And couldn't see anything from SOs account.
Everything is hidden except memes that she has shared from other pages
@skate that is a possibility but she's a spiteful person and I went back through her timeline and I can't see anything anymore. I can't even see past posts that she has tagged me in. I'm assuming that means she hid everything from me. And why would she do that if she has nothing to hide from me? ?
When you go to her page from your account is everything hidden from you now or are there just no recent posts? If everything is hidden, you're on the restricted list and can't see anything she posts. If she just doesn't have any recent posts, then she's probably just not posting anything.
Can't see posts from SOs Facebook either. I asked a family member. It looks like she hid everything from family.

I haven't posted a picture on here because it's not private but I'll post one of my twins but I'll probably delete it after everyone has seen it.
Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no,
his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me...
Having creeps on this app is my reasoning for not posting personal pictures on here. I don't like to show my face or post pictures of my son because it's so easy for them to save pictures it's kinda scary. Am I the only one that doesn't post pictures for this exact reason?

👀 Too everyone that liked that girls “back the blue” post yesterday and then didn’t speak out when she made blatantly racist comments on that same post, I see y’all.
OP I have similar concerns with my LO. I also don't post pictures of me and my SO on FB.
My little sister did the same thing and I tried to ask her nicely to take it down.
She was pretty upset with me and didn't talk to me for a few months.
Honestly, you have to do what you feel best for your family.
You feel you are protecting your LO, don't let anyone make you feel guilty for it! ?
