Dd has been 95th % for length, 90th for weight, and 75th for head consistently since she was about 2 1/2 months old. So her growth curve has stayed consistent once we got her weight gain up after birth :)

My dd was 14 inches at birth and it has never been mentioned that it was too big. Obviously it's on the larger side but as long as the size didn't increase like crazy in a short amount of time then I wouldn't be concerned. That's why we shouldn't all necessarily look at percentiles but that each individual baby is growing according to their own curve.

My daughter's head is about 18 1/2 inches which is close to 48 cm I think.

She was born Oct. 13th and it was 14 inches when she was born.. It doesn't sound too big at all.

She has a circumference of 48 cm, it was 44.5 cm at 6 months. She is in the 99% she doesn't look disproportional. At all!

Well, we can't afford the MRI, $1,441! So we are going to cooks craniofacial specialist friday to see what they think. Crossing fingers!!!!

I could handle an ultrasound the MRI she has to be sedated an possibly have an iv!

Better safe than sorry. My kids have big heads but my sons was so large at birth they did an ultrasound to be sure it wasn't encephalitis, which it wasn't. But I never would have forgiven myself if I put my own fears above my child's well being.

Big heads run in the family. My nephew got stuck in te birth canal and my sis had to have a c section to get him out his head was so big! My hubby and I both have big heads we ride a Harley and the helmets are size XXL! I really don't want to do the MRI! She's not exhibiting any developmental delays....?!

All I know is I wish they made shirts with bigger headed kids in mind! Now that he's in bigger sizes, I don't see shirts with snaps at the head holes as much.

Big head means big brains, right? :) Some kids have bigger heads before they start to proportion out, grow into it.

My sons head is measuring pretty large and he still has a fair soft spot, but the doctor didn't seem worried.

Awe, poor you and baby! My son has a big head (99th percentile), but thankfully his doctor hasn't been worried because she has been the family doctor for years and big heads just run in the family.

Now the insurance won't ok a ct but an MRI with and without contrast so that means sedation and an IV!!!!!!!!
