my 9yr.old brought lice home she didnt itch till she was infested! i made her follow the rid lice directions and shampoo herself,60.00 and two lice kits later she still had lice! so i googled online found out if u leave ur home for 2days they die without a host! so i washed everyones bedding spayed lice killer on the furniture n vacated my home for 4days to be sure! in the mean time i had her olive oil her hair n egg comb it constantly. was hell! but finally they r gone!

I work in a daycare and am exposed to it all the time!! There is a shampoo called fairy tails and it is all natural so us prefix can us it. It is to prevent not something that kills it once they get it but I have been using it for a while and i have not gotten lice. It does not smell the best but if its going to keep me lice free in ok with that.

I'm pretty sure you can just steam clean your furniture instead of getting the spray stuff too btw

Veg oil also works... Same way you use the mayo... After its gone keep your/ daughters hair braided they have a hard time getting in the hair that way

After you wash it put baby oil in her hair. My sister had the same problem only thing was her hair is thick and down past her knees. I know it looks messy with the baby oil but it helps get rid of them bc they have nothing to hold on to.

Olive oil for 8 hours in cling wrap then rinse with mouth wash. I heard this works, never tried it myself. Also, to prevent lice you should use tea tree oil in get normal shampoo or spray on with water before she leaves for school. Good luck!

It's a misconception that ppl who have lice are dirty. Lice actually LOOVE clean hair bc they can grip the follicles. Dirty, oily hair just slide right off.

Try the mayo to get rid of them, but after it might be as easy as only washing your daughters hair every other night and/or using hairspray (any kind) in her hair on days when youve just washed it.

Mayo, tea tree oil... they have lice shampoo for kids. Blow dry her hair on high heat... They also have very effective lice combs. Use that after washing though. It can get the dead eggs out and dead lice. I had lice twice when I was little. At least you know your lo has very clean hair! (lice can't move around in dirty or greasy hair)

I heard vinegar works...? Never tried.

TEA TREE OIL! it has a strong smell but damn it worked the first time i tried it. after a month of my daughter dealing with head lice and we tried everything and i mean everything! nothing worked. When i used the Tea Tree Oil, the lice never even came back.

yeah mayo is best...and until it is under control @ school they havr a daily shampoo to repel lice for kidoz..pretty inexpensive, non toxic and so much less of a hassle then trying to get rid of them :)

When I was little it would always go around my elementary school. I also suggest the mayo. Put it on very generously and use the lice comb afterwards. Good luck.

when i was little we put mayo in my hair and a shower cap for 3 hrs then after washing it out combed through the hair and picked everything out...
