15 days until c-section
My first c-section was an emergency c-section. This one is scheduled so I really don't know what to expect. I will be requesting a epidural instead of the spinal as well as anti nausea meds in my iv to prevent vomiting but I'm still extremely nervous!! What should I expect the c-section to be like compared to the emergency one?

For one, you will be probably feel calmer since it's not an emergency. Did u have a spinal with your first? I didn't have any problems with mine but everyone is different, by the time I left the recovery room I could move my legs. The hardest part for me was waiting in recovery because they took my son away to bathe him and do all of tht stuff, some hospitals let the baby stay with mother during that time but mine doesn't.
I'm having my second c section on sept 13.

Also they will make you cut off foods and liquids the night before which I hated because I'm a thirsty person and I still couldn't drink water til three or four hours after surgery but they did give me some ice chips. And if other emergencies pop up before your surgery you have to wait. I was scheduled for 1 pm but didn't actually have him until 3:18 pm. But for the most part you are so excited to meet the little one that not much bothers you!

Last time I had an epidural which is why I'll request one again. Just because I already know how my body handles it. It didn't make me sick or have any negative effects at all. The hospital I will be delivering at practices general c-sections so I will get skin to skin contact as soon as she's born and will be able to Breastfeed right away which I'm looking forward too. When I had my son that wasn't an option. My last c-section was miserable so I'm really hoping this one is much different.
