Spinal vs epidural

My last pregnancy I was in labor for 12 hours and had the epidural before needing a c-section. Once it became time for the c-section they just upped my dosage of the epidural. This time I'm having another c-section but will be getting a spinal. I was wondering what peoples experiences were with each and how they differed if you've had both. My body handled the epidural well. It didn't make sick, shaky, or tired so I'm pretty nervous about getting a spinal.

The sickness is what my main concern is when it comes to the spinal. My last c-section they gave me meds before I could even start to feel sick because I was so afraid if vomiting during the c-section.

I had the epi with my son and it kept failing and i ended up not progressing so i had to have a csection and they took out the epi and used the same hole for a spinal, i never felt weird or anything on the epi, and the spinal i felt instantly sick but as soon as i said i was going to get sick they pushed meds through my ive that stopped it, over all the spinal was just fine. I did have alittle problems afterwards with my heart rate to fast and blood pressure to low but it didnt last long at all.

I had both. My epidural didn't work the first try so they did a combo on the second try. Generally one is placed just a bit lower than the other but the overall side effect are about the same though I'm not sure if they use the same meds or not.

I had an epidural with my first and a spinal for my surgery. They use a catheter to be able to give you constant pain relief medicine over a long period of time with the epidural. The spinal is basically a one shot deal, short term. It lasts a few hours. After my surgery they gave me oral pain meds

So my doctor said I should start planning out my "birth plan" such as if I'm doing vaginal or I want a c-section. Also if I'm doing vaginal, do I want an epidural or not. I'm so undecided. 😟Anyone do it vaginal with no epidural? How bad is it?! And I was told if you get a c-section you are limited to 4 kids because it's unsafe to cut you open in the same area that many times.. (I'm not sure how many kids I will want to have in the future) 🎀👶🏼🍼 Opinions?

Birth Plan Rant I used to be all about getting an epidural, but after research and thinking about it more I want to have an unmedicated birth (this is my first baby). What annoys me is when I say that I'm going to TRY my hardest to have a natural and unmedicated birth people always feel the need to say that I'm crazy or that I'm going to change my mind when I get in that position. Or that epidurals are the best. I do realize that plans change, but why can't people be supportive and encouraging?
