Have you experienced PRETERM LABOR?

I had my first 33wks and second at 36wks. I just felt like my stomach was hardening and felt pressure, never pain. With my first I just woke up in full blown labor. With my second I was 33wks when I had some spotting and light cramping. Went to the ER the next day to get checked and was told I was 2.5cm dilated and contracting every 5mins. Turned out I had a yeast infection so got treated for that and put on medication to stall labor. Was put in bed rest till I woke up in full on labor at 36wks. Both were born fast. Neither had to stay in the NICU. With my third we made it to 38wks and 6days with the help of progesterone injections. Getting them this time as well and getting my cervix measured on Monday.

I went into preterm labor at 35 weeks with my first. One night my stomach kept feeling like it would get tight for a few seconds and then stop for a few minutes and then start back up. After a few hours of trying to stop the tightening, taking a bath etc., I went to the hospital and it turned out the tightening was contractions and they were making me dilate. They gave me two injections to try and stop the contractions but that didn't work so they ended up admitting me and started me on pitocin. I didn't have any painful contractions up until then. My baby spent 12 days in the nicu because she had respiratory distress syndrome, which means her lungs weren't fully developed when she was born. There was no known cause as to why I went into labor early.

I had preterm with my daughter starting at 24 weeks by week 26 I was full bed rest until the last month. I had a shot in the arm twice to stop contractions. Then I was induced due to the placenta wasn't working and my daughter stopped growing. We didn't catch it until I was 37 weeks. This time around I being watched very closely because this is the time preterm started and I'll be having another ultrasound around 32 weeks and possibly more. It's not fun it hurts and it's scary. I'm being honest because no one was with me.

Hi there, I was told the same thing. My cervix measured 1.5. I lost my mucus plug this morning and spent majority of the day in the er. They are just watching me now with weekly ultrasounds. Drinking Lots of water and bed rest can help. Staying positive and praying works wonders. Stay encouraged mama, I've read lots of stories today where women have delivered healthy babies with this condition.

@pregrie omg ? that’s so scary, I truly hope everything turns out fine for you and baby. How did you know it was your mucus plug that fell out??

I had the same problem with my last pregnancy and also had the same exact measurements as you. My doctor put me on progesterone vaginal suppositories. I had to put a suppository in every night before going to bed and that did help. I was on that medication until about 32-33 weeks I think. Everything eventually turned out fine but my water did break at 35w7d and my daughter spent 21 days in NICU because of some issues that she was born with but everything went a lot smoother than I thought it would.
