Big brother to be - turned 10 months last week and I turned 12 weeks on Monday ?

I love that car seat! Things seem so much more simple over in European countries lol I wish I lived there.

By weight he could have gone into it before 6 months! Only by a week or so but still! I'm still hoping to buy a group 0/1+ rear facing or something for the new baby, and stick him in it until they arrive but oh doesn't wanna fork out for another car seat

Yeah, they try to put these laws in effect but don't think of the taller children. They go by average. By law, with the car seats restrictions, my daughter could have been facing forward facing at 7 months because of her height and weight. But, we pushed it off to as close to a year as we could. She outgrew we newborn seat by 5 months.

Chelsea - Noah is 2.5 ft tall and weighs around 10.5kg and I didn't *want* to ff him yet either but didn't have much choice :/

But to the other poster please don't assume I'm just ignoring the laws and disregarding the safety of my child.

Babies here must rear face until 9 months, and our car doesn't accommodate rear facing safely either. He is in the age and weight (I think height too) limit for forward facing.

They will be changing to rf until 15m for I size car seats. Our car doesn't have isofix so doesn't apply to us. I would rather he forward face earlier than the norm but still legally, instead of rear face very unsafely. (The guy actually said he could go ff now when we checked if our current car seat was still good)

They are working on that law in the States. And honestly, I hate it. My daughter is above average for height and was squished rear facing by 10 months. We held off until almost a year old. But she would never fit rear facing now. And she will be 2 on Sunday. In her seat, she can touch the back of my husband's seat. And his seat isnt that far back. She is 3 ft tall and age 2....

Is rear facing also illegal or not required?

Theres a new law that is supposed to pass here in states that all babies must be rear facing until they are 2 years old.

Yeah I'm in the uk - chest clips are illegal here because they're deemed dangerous

Where are you from? Notice the car seat doesn't have chest clip, so assuming you aren't in the US?
