Bleeding nappy rash

My lb is nearly 6 months old and had never had nappy rash until last night when it just came on very sore (mainly in the bend of the hip and on the genitals). I was changing his nappy earlier and had just wiped him and noticed that some of the skin on his testicles had broken and started bleeding. Does anyone have any tried and tested methods of helping clear it up? I would wash him when changing nappy but it's far too much of a hassle to do that, especially every 1/2 hours. Atm I'm putting sudocrem on and letting him air out for a bit before putting the new nappy on, but last change he started pooing a little and peed twice. It's quite difficult watching him shaking and crying with the pain of even me placing a wipe on him to cool it down a bit :/

Our daughter got a bad one a while ago and Doctor recommended warm baking soda and water soaks every few hours and lots of naked tummy time and beaudreauxs butt paste. It was gone in a day or two.

My son had a really bad rash. No creams were working (tried 5 different types) and bare bum wasnt working then my mom told me what my gramma used to do. She would wash babies bum with baking soda in water every diaper change. I used a squeeze bottle with 8 oz water and 1 tsp baking soda. I would splash it on his rash every diaper change and in 2 days it went from bright bright red to pale pink. Works wonders. My mom also said my gramma would use corn starch for bum powder (never tried it though as we have easily accessible baby powder) my grampa would used it on razor burn as well.

A&d or for my son who always had a yeast type rash a prescription of nyastatin will do the trick overnight. My dd just had a bad broken open spot. Used nyastatin and put a&d over it. This morning it's almost totally gone and not red.

Thanks ladies for the advice - I didn't even have a chance to get anything as it went right down 2 days later! I kept him nappy free as much as I could, and changed every hour or so cleaning with cotton balls and water.

We'd been using cloth nappies for the past 2 and a half weeks, but are currently using pampers (as we were before) since the rash as I'd be going through around 10+ nappies a day for changing him so frequently.

I have no idea how it came on so quickly and angrily, to just go away so quickly? It's still just little bits of red left but I imagine they'll go down in a day or two so I can go back to the cloth nappies :)

What diapers and wipes do you use? Most have chemicals in them. Sounds like a chemical burn/rash to me.

Try water wipes if you can get them they are my favorite. And get chemical free diapers or its just gonna keep repeating

I can use whatever ointment but use, either caldasene powder which is cornstarch with zinc from Walmart or drugstores and it will clear it in like 2-3 days Bc it keeps the area dry. Ointments work but ur will take longer to heal if you are not keeping the area super dry and that dies the job. Don't use regular powder it irritates it more. Caldasene with butt paste works wonders. I used aquaphor but it didn't work for diaper rash but info use it for my daughters dry skin.

The absolute best thing is to leave baby with his diaper off for a while to air it out.

Just put towels you don't mind getting dirty underneath.

Thanks for the suggestions, unfortunately I'd have to order them from Amazon (uk) so they wouldn't come before the rash would've gone :( might have to buy some of the aquaphor (there's only 2 of the dr smiths) for next time though!

This is an old old thing that My grandma and great grandma always say, kinda weird but it has worked for me.

Egg whites! Brush it on let him fully dry before putting another nappy.

Worked in a day for my LO. I did it every other diaper change

If you're breast feeding you can try to put a little breast milk on it. I read that helps

I had a stillborn daughter at 38 weeks this passed Nov. This is my second month ttc. (Last month we only tried for like two weeks though). My last and only pregnancy, I got pregnant the first month of ttc so I hope it's quick this time again.

It's my fiances birthday in a few weeks and his dad is guna take us to monkey world.. do I just continue with cotton wool and just take a bottle of water to use or wipes :s ftm and a bit confused! Thankyou (: xx

I used Aldi wipes from day one with this baby. Same as pp I stopped using Johnsons
Also I second not using Johnsons literally feels like your eye is gonna fall out if you
I would never use any Johnson's product, hate them. Asda little angels or water wipes I think
