Induction question
So I'm 40 weeks and 5 days and only 1cm dilated, anywhere btw 60-80% effaced and the baby's head is super low. However, I have not had any contractions and no progress in dilation for the past 2.5 weeks. When I got checked on Saturday my ob said I can't be induced because my cervix isn't ready. Isn't an induction meant to help get the cervix ripened and dilated? What if I don't progress more and I go close to 42 weeks, will she still not induce me? So confused...
Some doctors follow the bishop score to a t. If you dont score high enough you dont have a favorable induction. My doctor agreed to induce me cause i was having contractions regularly was a little dilated and more than half dilated.baby was also -1 station. So he was head down and had dropped. Sometimes if body isnt ready doctors dont want to risk a failed induction or forced csection. Ask your doctor to explain why they dont want to do it.
I just want her to at least have it in the plans if needed and discuss it with me. I feel like she's very against it. If I need one due to dirty amniotic fluid, meconium, placental degeneration- I want to know that she will at least offer that option and not go straight to c section!
Now I just have to figure out how to actually convince her that after 41weeks I want to get induced! I am feeling tired, in pain and have had a lot of nausea. I need someone to help me out and not just ignore my concerns :(
Thank you! I thought I was wrong. What she said just confused me ?
Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no,
his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me...
Transgender children
So I just learned that in my kids school district (my kids aren't in school yet my oldest will be starting kindergarten next September) there are twin boys who identify as girls. They are 5 years old. What's your opinions on this matter given they are 5!!! I don't believe that at that age they really understand the whole thing. So the entire school had to take a course on how to handle transgender children. For example they can't say girls go this or boys do that. What are...

When I was scheduled to be induced they were having me come in the night before a morning induction to apply something to my cervix so it would sit over night and soften it. I was only 1cm and barely effaced at 41 weeks when I was was scheduled. I also had zero contractions prior to labor. (got lucky though and my water broke and I went into labor an hour before I was scheduled to be at the hospital). So that doesn't make sense what your doc said. My sister was induced a month early due to preeclampsia so her cervix was certainly not ready. Maybe your doc just wants you to try and go as natural as possible with the induction? Good luck momma!
