Advice please!! I will be 38 weeks this Sunday I am 1 cm and 50% effaced How can I dilate more? I have bad hip pain so don't want to be walking today.
had my doc appt and still only fingertip dilated at 40+4 wks😕 i have until monday to have this boy naturally if not induction it is... anybody go from less than 1cm to labor in 5 days or less. . . or at least went into labor before 41 weeks even though at 40 weeks you had not dilated at all? starting to worry since my cervix isnt doing anything😭😭😭 doc said induction would be painful since im not even dilating
Had my cervix checked (at hospital) on Sunday 1cm dilated.... go today my doc says I’m not dilated at all . Ummmmmmmmm 🤷🏾 ♀
Went to the hospital since my doc refused to check me, I'm 1cm dilated, 70% effaced!
My doctor said he would induce my labor at 38 weeks, if my baby girl still had growth issues and if the percentile dropped to 10 or less. Last thursday, it was 10 percentile, and he said if she didn't come on her own by 38 weeks, he would induce labor at that time. I'm 36 weeks 1 day today, he said my cervix was super thin, and 1cm dilated. Is there a possibility this can change... that my doctor will let her just come on her own? I don't want to be induced, i would much rather her come on her own when she is ready to come ! As much as I am anxious to meet her and have her home with me, those last few weeks of brain development and lung maturation means so much more to me! I'm hoping and praying that things turn around, and I don't have to get induced. I'm surely going to talk to my doctor about it Thursday when I go back.

This is my first and it's a boy which I heard also makes a difference. They plan on inducing but still have not discussed with me when... The doctors said my cervix is still not favorable to induce- whatever that means. I thought induction is meant to help out with dilation and start labor?!
40+5 days today. Getting tired and losing hope :(

So frustrating especially being overdue as it is! PP is right each doctor/nurse will give a slightly different answer based on their size of hands and their interpretation of it all! Do they plan on inducing you once you get to a certain point? Is this your first?

I guess I'm just looking for a single answer. Being past due is already frustrating enough as it is :(
Thanks for the input

Keep in mind that your doctor is feeling this out with their hands, not a ruler. So each doctor, nurse, whoever that measures you is going to have a slightly different perspective. Just keep them all in mind. It seems like the average of the measurements is progressing, so that's good!
