Measurements, who's right????
I'm 40 weeks and 4 days with no end in sight :( I have been getting checked for dilation and effacement since week 38. The problem I am having is that the two doctors I am seeing keep changing their measurements. On week 38 I was 60% effaced and no dilation with doc #1. Than week 39 with doc #2 I was 80% effaced and a 1cm dilated. Week 40 I was 60% effaced and 1/2cm dilated with doc #1 and at triage I was back to 50% effaced this week and 1cm dilated... Wth? I have no idea how much or little progress I have made! 50% is much different than 80% effaced?!? Irritated and lost...
I guess I'm just looking for a single answer. Being past due is already frustrating enough as it is :(
Thanks for the input
Keep in mind that your doctor is feeling this out with their hands, not a ruler. So each doctor, nurse, whoever that measures you is going to have a slightly different perspective. Just keep them all in mind. It seems like the average of the measurements is progressing, so that's good!
Advice please!!
I will be 38 weeks this Sunday I am 1 cm and 50% effaced
How can I dilate more? I have bad hip pain so don't want to be walking today.
had my doc appt and still only fingertip dilated at 40+4 wks😕 i have until monday to have this boy naturally if not induction it is... anybody go from less than 1cm to labor in 5 days or less. . . or at least went into labor before 41 weeks even though at 40 weeks you had not dilated at all? starting to worry since my cervix isnt doing anything😭😭😭 doc said induction would be painful since im not even dilating
Had my cervix checked (at hospital) on Sunday 1cm dilated.... go today my doc says I’m not dilated at all . Ummmmmmmmm 🤷🏾♀️
Went to the hospital since my doc refused to check me, I'm 1cm dilated, 70% effaced!
Contraction questions
I had a membrane sweep today. Before the sweep I was 3-4 dilated & 75% effaced.
This is my first and it's a boy which I heard also makes a difference. They plan on inducing but still have not discussed with me when... The doctors said my cervix is still not favorable to induce- whatever that means. I thought induction is meant to help out with dilation and start labor?!
40+5 days today. Getting tired and losing hope :(
