I lost mine 12 am on my due date. contractions at 2 am and had her 1:55 pm. with my 1st i never noticed loosing it I only had the contractions.

I was induced with my first so I never lost my mucus plug naturally but with my second I lost it early in the morning around 7ish and had him late that night at 2 AM. I guess it just varies..

Your mucous plug can regenerate itself and dilation doesn't necessarily mean anything unless you are in labor and progressing.

Does it make a difference that I'm 90% effaced and the baby's head is engaged with 1-2cm dilation

I never lost mine with my first. Had membranes stripped at 38.5 weeks and went into labor the next day. 38 weeks on Thursday and still haven't lost mine

It can vary. Two weeks or less. Some women go into labor soon after. Some not till they are due. I lost mine about 2wks ago and im still hanging on. I'm 36wks.
