In Labor??
I have heard crazy stories from women who had no idea they were going into labor. The signs and symptoms of labor were things like a bad headache that wouldn't go away with Tylenol or indigestion that just kept lingering around. I'm almost 38 weeks along myself and now am questioning if I will know when it's time to deliver!! I haven't felt any of my Braxton-Hicks contractions though the doctor has told me I have been having them :P
I never felt the Braxton hicks contractions either , I had no signs of labor , I just woke up at 12am with what I describe as a period cramp , a couple of times , at 2am it became a regular light period cramp that would last like 20 seconds then I'd get it again 10 mins later , I decided this must be early labor but it didn't really hurt so expected it to go on for ages and I'd go to hospital when it got painful and closer together , the cramps-contractions got closer still not much pain tho and I had a show so I called my midwife at around 4am , expecting her to say stay at home for awhile longer , she said come in and I'll check you and see the progress so at 5am I got to hospital still not too much pain but regular cramps and the midwife said I was 8cms , I was like wtf really ? Lucky I didn't stay at home longer baby was born an hour later , it got really intense once I got to the hospital and into the transition stage..but I could of easily left it too late cos I just thought it was like early labor, pre labor , Braxton hicks but it was actually real labor.
With my first I was having what I thought were contractions, went in to the hospital and they told me I wasn't in labor after monitoring me for a couple hours. So I went home.. Confused because I kept having those same contraction feelings! But I thought I was just being a huge wimpy baby. So I got in the bath to try to control what I thought must have been Braxton hicks. This was around 11 pm. At 6 am I told my husband he needs to get me to the hospital NOW. I got there, was 10 cm dilated and pushed my daughter out 25 minute after arriving. And my water never broke they had to break it at 10 cm dilated so I had no idea. Maybe if my water broke earlier that night I would have known I was in actual labor and not being a baby.
Lol, I just want to prepare myself for anything and clearly anything could happen. But higher chances are that you'll be fine mama. Your body is meant for this :)
With my first I was thrown into labor early by my Dr breaking my water accidentally during a routine exam. With my second I never dilated or went into full labor because they found out I'm no longer capable of it due to scar tissue in/on cervix from Cervical Cancer surgery. It took them 4 rounds of Cervadil and 6 days of mild contractions in the hospital to figure that out. I had Pre-Clampsia causing BP to be 195/140 so a C-section it was!
A story about my friend when she went into labour with her first.
My friend was living with me at the time and she was doing the washing. Just as she had finished putting all the washing on the clothes line to dry. Her waters broke and she fell onto the ground and started crying. I could her her crying but didn't know what it was at first. Then I looked out my window and saw her crying and ran out to see what was going on. And she told me she was in labour. So I grabbed her and her hospital bags and drove her to the hospital. We were about 2 minutes away from the hospital when she told me to pull over. I asked her why and she said I need to do something and I don't want to distract you. And I said what is it and she said hang on a few mins and she took in a deep breathe and started screaming while pushing. (She had been pushing (in labour) whilst I was driving to the hospital) and about 5 minutes later her baby was born and she said to me I had to scream that's why I pulled over because I didn't want to distract you. So I drove her and her newborn baby to the hospital and all was well. Now her little girl will be 1 Soon and she is expecting baby #2 and is due February 15th 2016
I had just shoveled about 8" of snow off the driveway the night before and woke up with horrible back pain. I thought it was from my stupidity of shoveling but then a few hours later I realized I was in labor and had her 38 minutes after arriving at the hospital. :) she was my 2nd btw!
It's incredible how different everyone's experiences are! Thanks for sharing ladies! Curious to see what happens when it's my turn...
I should warn you that I also had no idea what braxton hicks were as I never was conscious of having any. This threw me off a bit when I was in labour because I hadn't experienced them. Well I thought I hadn't lol. The only thing I would say is I had "back labour" I think they call it. So I was waiting for incredible pain to hit my stomach...but the incredible pain I had was deep inside in my lower back lol...so don't let that fool you x
I honestly had no idea.. I was 8 days overdue and was suppose to be induced in 2 days.
I paced around the house cause I couldn't sleep. Finally I went to hospital at 5 , no pain nothing . Got there and nurse told me I wasn't going home.. lol I thought they were going to send me home. Ended up having my son at 8:03. Most intense 3 hrs of my life. But I had no pain till an hour after I had gotten to hospital
I had heart burn that I thought would kill me for hours. Then I thought I was having braxton hicks as I was only 38 +5 but everyone told me I'd probably go overdue with my first so wasn't prepared at all. I stayed at home in AGONY for hours and then rang my mum. My mum said I should probably go in. I was 9 dilated and almost ready to give birth by the time I accepted that I was actually in labour lol. I believe it's what they call the "stiff upper lip" lol...I didn't want to bother anyone lol x
Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no,
his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me...
TWW!!

Short Luteal Phase?
I've just started temping because I believe that the reason I haven't had a BFP yet, after 20 months, is because I believe I may have a Luteal Phase Defect.
Oh wow! Scary.. So go with gut feeling, go it.
