Braxton-hicks contractions

I'm 36 weeks and 4 days along and just had my ob visit. While the nurse was doing the fetal heartbeat she felt my stomach and told me I was having a Braxton hicks contraction. The weird thing was that I didn't feel a darn thing?! Aren't they suppose to be painful and uncomfortable? The doctor also felt the contractions and yet I felt nothing. Anyone else have this happen to them? Now I'm worried that I'm not going to feel what I should be. Will I feel the real contractions??

Mine were never painful. Sometimes they were uncomfortable but that was it. I didn't even know I was in labor when I had my first because I couldn't feel the contractions at all. They never became painful and I had him with no medication. You might be one of those people who don't feel pain with contractions

Most Braxton Hicks are not painful. Some may be uncomfortable due to the tightening but not painful. You'll know when they're real.
