Prevent tears during L&D
Did anyone use primrose to prevent tears? If so did it work and when did you start using it?
I initially started pushing on my side but the doctor made me lay on my back. I was so out of it from the meds from having preeclampsia that I don't know if there was a reason for it or not. I seriously couldn't slow down the pushing because of the immense pressure and pain in my pelvic\sacral bones.
For those who push too fast, ask to push on your left side. That way your sacrum is still free to move, but the head comes out slower. Side lying is great too, because it allows you to relax between pushes, and you can do it with an epidural.
I had a third degree tear with my first, from pushing flat on my back and did not tear with 2 or 3 on my left side. Those two also had nuchal hands. I am a believer!
I pushed really fast too. 20 min from first push to baby all the way out. It was so painful that I couldn't slow down. The doctor kept telling me to go slower and to let a couple contractions pass without pushing but good God that was too painful. When you contract, you really need to push and if you dont, it is the most uncomfortable experience ever. I just pushed anyway. My body told me that I needed to and so I listened to my body rather than a doctor who had never had a baby. The tear was less painful than trying to slow down pushing.
None of the tearing tips prevented it for me, I had a nasty 2nd degree tear (big headed baby pushed out too fast ?)
The best thing you can do to prevent is listen to your midwife and take it real slow when crowning.
I found it so painful I just pushed as hard as I could to get him out & my poor foof paid the price lol
Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no,
his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me...

I did them a few times a week. I used coconut oil as my daily moisturizer because my skin was so dry. So whenever I got out of the shower and had the time I'd do them. I don't really remember when I started though...
