Name switch-a-roo!
So in the early stages of pregnancy my hubby and I both loved Eric for a boys name. So we decided to go with that name. However, now I'm leaning toward Matthew more. I love how the name flows off the tongue and my mom loves it too. However, hubby doesn't want to change and is sticking to Eric. What should I do? Keep Eric or go with Matthew? Which do you like better??

Oh I know. It wasn't her choosing. I liked the name and just asked what she thinks. She didn't have an impact on me liking the name
Save Matthew in case you have another son! It's your and your husband's child. Even though it's ok for your mom to have an opinion, it's not her child. I'm sure your mom with be estatic over her grandchild!
Eric Matthew sounds much cuter
Never thought of a combo of three names, thanks ladies! And yes, that's my main selling point to him- he got to pick the middle name without any argument on my side. I'll bring up some of the combos you ladies proposed here, Ty :)
I really like Felix Matthew. Or Matthew Felix. But if your dh won't budge on Eric then maybe Eric Felix Matthew or some combination of the 3. Also, if your dh got to choose the middle name then IMO its only fair if you get more pull on the first name.
Eric Felix doesn't flow very well but if it has significance then use it anyway. I however love the name Matthew. And I love Felix. I also love the combo Eric Matthew Felix. This way you both get the names you want. And it flows super adorably.
Of he gets to pick middle name, you should have atleast a 60% pull on the first name IMO ☺ I love the spelling Mathieu , or the alternative Mathias. But I like the name Matthew more than Eric . My gpa was Matthew so we are looking at names such as Matson for a boy and Mattison for a girl. Good luck!
What about Eric Matthew Felix? Hubby's name is Eric so I'm biased lol.
I prefer Eric over Matthew, and Felix over Matthew. However, I agree that Eric Felix isn't the best combo. Honestly, I would look for a different name entirely, or see if you can sell your husband on Matthew Felix.
I agree, I think Eric Matthew sounds the best, but if you're set in Felix, Matthew sounds much better than Eric as a first name.
IMO, Eric Matthew flows 100x better than Eric Felix. i just love Matthew and think it goes with everything!
My husband got to pick the middle name. He wants his grandfathers name Felix, so it can't be Eric Mathew.
Well I would go with what your husband and you agree on. I wouldn't worry about pleasing your mother over your husband. I like Eric Matthew.
Can it be Eric Matthew? Or Matthew Eric? Or do you have another middle?
