Geographic tongue! This is my daughters tongue on a very mild day. Does anyone have any info regarding geographic…

I used to look after a little boy that had it. We thought his parents were repeatedly burning his mouth with hot food! ? luckily I researched & we realised that it was this.

As far as I'm aware it doesn't cause any problems, is harmless & they might outgrow it. So nothing to worry about :-)

Certain things can trigger it to flare up so I guess just trying to work out what they are xx

Lol that's quite funny. She's had it since she was a baby, I have been fobbed off for over a year that it's thrush and given nystatin etc for it, I did my own research not long back and told my gp it was geographic tongue seen a consultant who agrees with me but gave me no info, she told me a dentist would tell me about it when are starts seeing one. It's really frustrating to be honest. Thanks for replying xx

I have this my tongue looks awful and can be painful I found that citric acid is usually the cause of a flare up unfortunately it's in a lot o foods and drinks

I have this, but it doesn't often bother me. Sometimes it feels a bit strange as the patches go smooth and a bit more sensitive to hot liquids, but on the whole the biggest problem is that it looks weird x

It doesn't seem to bother her one bit even when it's at its worst. Have any of you tried vitamin b to get rid of it. I have done alot of research and it may be a vitamin deficiency my gp has told me to trial it lol xx

Girls with it do you find anything in particular causes a reaction! My son has this quite bad and we've found with squash his lips and around it (and around eyes) swell slightly and go very spotty x

@pp (ellie?) lacey has never had any of that.

Her tongue just changes some days it's like this which is very mild, and somedays it looks like crop circles all over her tongue. X
