Idk what to do anymore
My son is very dependent on his paci. He wakes every 3 hours at night to eat. I try to help him soothe himself with even trying to get to sleep with the paci and everything but he's such a fighter. He has so much energy to fight sleep even when he's so tired. He's a distracted eater which is why he likes to eat at night. I've been trying to feed him even more during the day, even started solids but this kid won't budge. I'm starting to think he's just gonna have to grow out of it? I thought I could help him and I but nothing I do seems to make a dent in helping us get more sleep or him eating more during the day like he's supposed to. I've even tried co sleeping. I think I might need to get him more tired like work out more but idk what else to do. All my attention goes to him as a sahm, he has toys, jumper, I take him places to learn and see. How do I get him more tired??? Seriously.
Lol that's how my son is! Even the picture on the wall distracts him. He sleeps so good in his crib but is just hungry throughout the night. That's why I'm scared to permanently co sleep and go backwards. I just can't think of ways to get him any more tired or work out or to eat more during the day. I think I'll try slowly increasing his bottles. I've lessened the bottles at night down to 4 oz. because he was downing 6 oz. at night a few times but only drinking 2-3 oz during the day. I thought maybe he has days/nights mixed up but i don't see how he could. I think it's solely distraction.
Oh boy. I got macey to drink more my getting her a half oz extra in each bottle. Did that for s few days then added another half oz. She went from 4 oz to 4 1/2 oz to 5 oz. In a few days I'll start with 5 1/2 oz then to 6. She also wakes to eat at night 2-4 times a night. And she won't fall asleep without a bottle in her mouth lol guess they will need to grow out of it. Maybe slowly giving more milk will help. Try feeding in a quiet place so baby is less distracted. My first was so distracted when eating. I couldn't have anyone around him when eating or the TV on. I had to have a quiet room for him or he wouldn't eat. And I couldn't look at him while he had a bottle.
My goodness! The struggle is so rough!! Haha that's why I've given up and I just feed him at night but I would love to help him eat more during the day, then he wouldn't be so hungry at night. I think he teething pain prevents him from eating a lot during the day.
I'm a SAHM too, and all of my energy during the day goes to keeping our little girl busy. She has a high motor, doesn't nap well, and no matter how little sleep she gets during the day or how tired she is, she still doesn't fall asleep before 10 pm and wakes every 2-4 hours at night. It sucks, but if they're waking up to eat then they're hungry.
I've been going through this with my LO. Last week was rough- one day she ate 9oz during the day other days she was just snacking. Daddy was on his night rotation so I thought it was a good idea to try sleeping in the crib. OMG by night 4 I was so wore out I put her in the bed with me instead of her pack n play in our room. Between my 14mo old and her I was sleep walking during the day. And she only naps 30 min intervals. 15 months and I haven't slept over 6 hours once ?
