Does your s.o help with baby at night? Like, oh idk with feedings? Haha Mine tries to but he gets up early for work so I guess that opts him out of caring for baby at night? I'm a sahm currently. It's the weekend and my husband can sleep through our sons crying on the baby monitor that is on my husbands night stand lol on loud!!! I knew he slept like a hibernating bear but how in the world can he sleep through such a thing? I can't believe it. And he was totally supposed to feed our son when he woke up ? Mama had too ?
My Family Schedule
Mommy feeds baby:
Mon-Fri 7:30am-5:00pm
Daddy Mon-Friday 5:00pm-9:00pm
I do Night feedings(she only gets up once) because hubby gets up for 5am
Sat- I sleep in(he gets up w/her)
Sun-Hubby Sleeps In(I get up w/her)
on the Weekends we alternate whoever's holding her at the time she's hungry feeds her! ☺️
And we share everything we both feed, bathe, & Change her .. I'm Blessed! ?
I let my daughter nap whenever she wants during the day. Then at 6pm and has to be up and stay up She goes to bed at 7:30 and gets up at 7 or 8. Once summer is over and we aren't always out going to the park and stuff I will get her on a set nap schedule. I never let her nap or play in her crib. Only sleep in it at night. That way she knows when she is in her crib, then that means it's bed time
What kind of schedule are your babies on? I thought their wake time was 1-1.5 hrs from what I've read but a friend is telling to keep him up as long as I can then nap. I'm so confused. I thought I was doing right
I tried to help my son sleep more through the night but nothing I've tried is working. And now he is teething so it's making him extra fussy and in pain ?
**Maybe I should ask tips on sleeping through the night instead? ?**
He helps with baths, feedings, playing, and whatever else I ask him but night time is just too difficult for him to get up. I only expect him to get up because it's OUR son not MY son. I plan on going back to work in a few months and then who would get up because we're both working full time? Lol Just because he works, he can't get up at night to feed his child? That's pathetic! I let him sleep to be nice and sympathetic but whose going to be sympathetic for me? My son takes short naps so I can't get much of a nap in. I try but it's not enough.
I usually do baths and bedtime so DH can rest/watch tv and enjoy his beer.
I think I came up with a good plan, he can either take the first feeding or the last before he goes to work. Our son has is eating every 3 hours at night ?
Yea that sucks my husband gets to go out more then me too. I feel like a prisoner and it's getting me pretty depressed. I'm also the only one up with the baby when he gets up early in the am too. It sucks. I can't take a shower or get myself ready unless baby is napping or crying right in front of me. I kinda miss how it was before baby. But I love my baby a tun. Guess it's just something u have to get used too. Like right now I'm playing with baby and trying to keep him entertained while my husband is laying on couch watching tv. He did work till probably 12 or 1 last night. But he does not go to bed till between 1 and 3. Oh well guess it's my 24 hour a day job
No I do everything at nighttime and during the day! He works full time and I stay home so I don't expect him to do anything, especially at night. If I'm tired the next day I can just take a nap with Mila since I'm home but he doesn't have that option.
When he's off work he does nothing but hang out and play with our daughter. He helps me give her baths and if I need him to help me with something he does. ?
Idk why someone would expect they're full time working husbands to get up at night if the mom isn't working but that's just my opinion and I know every marriage/relationship is different! ?
My husband works 45+ hours a week, is on call when he's not at work, and still gets up during the night. He does the first feeding which is usually around 1:30. I don't ask him or expect him to, he just does it. We were talking this morning and he said that he tried to get up for the second one too but I was already changing him. We have always split the night, whether I was working at the time or not, until baby is down to one feeding. Guess I'm pretty lucky!
I was so curious to see if anyone's s.o. helped them, especially at night. I know it's doable but how come "none" of them do it? If it was the other way around I would take a shift/feeding at night. At least one sheesh. Or give her a whole nights break since I don't know what that's like since before being pregnant. My DH is totally failing me ?
Interesting.
My DH leaves for work at 6am, comes home between 4-6pm. Our sons bedtime is 7:30-8pm.
I'm not sure what I want or what I'm expecting. But I just feel like I'm partially a single parent. And I hate that idea because I'm married for a reason. I feel like, if I can stay up and take of our son, even if it means not sleeping then so can my DH, regardless of working early. I gotta work 24/7 haha it sucks. But we both should have to do it. I think.
I look like such crap. I'm trying everyday to at least shower, put decent clothes on instead of clean pjs again haha hair and make up so I can at least feel like I did more than wipe something of my sons face or butt lol but it's so hard when there is so much lack of sleep ?
I'm trying to find a solution for me to get more sleep or a little help but idk how. I tried talking to DH but he's on edge with work. He tried last night and tonight to help me but when he tries to help it usually just makes it all worse. Like, waking me up, asking me questions, not getting up so I have to get him up.
I don't want to adult today. Can't I take Sunday off? Haha yeah right..
Nope I take care of the baby every night by myself. My husband does work one job 8 hours a day and the second job is a summer job and it's at night about 7 till 12 or 1am, and it's 4 nights a week. His only day off is Sundays. But even on his nights off It's only me and baby. That's my 24 hour a day job. Yippie. I haven't had a break at night these whole 3 months. My husband and I don't even sleep together. I don't even think we did the whole time I was pregnant. Maybe a couple times
Okay , don't get me wrong . My SO is amazing with our son but he works all day from 7 a.m to 4 p.m then afterwards he goes to the gym with his bestfriend mike for 2 hours then comes home around 7 . He comes home and he's with him but when it comes to feeding him most of the time it's just me and even changing him . I usually let him chill even tho he says he will help . And at night time it's like that , he works so much that I let him get his rest over night . But our son always wakes him up when he cries . So he's like semi awake but half sleep . He's a weird sleeper .. but I do everything ! Always !
Mine says he's okay for me to wake him up but it's a bit of a struggle and by that time I'm like, I'll do it. Does you DH help at night even if he works in the morning?
Nope. My husband has woke up with me to help 2 times and that was to clean pump parts when she was only days old. Otherwise i get up with her but i don't blame him- i chose to breastfeed so i don't hold it over his head. HOWEVER, He doesnt help with anything. He doesnt bathe her, do her laundry, dress her, put her to bed, read her stories. He only talks to her for a little bit a day and plays with her briefly and changes the occasional diaper. I love being a mom and everything that comes with it, though i need a break sometimes, i dont say anything to him because i domt mind doing everything for her. Then everyone wonders why shes so attached to me.
Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no,
his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me...
I’m officially left my husband he started physically harming me right after our son was born and this last time he cracked one of my teeth busted my lip and ripped the thing that’s holds my top lip to my gums that piece of skin he keeps screaming at me everytime he doesn’t get his way or he gets woken up by our son which in all honesty I do everything it’s not like he has to do much when I concerns our son maybe hold him for about 20 min after he is home then my son goes to sleep I’m done he wok...
so my husband wants to feed are baby but the thing is that I will be breastfeeding so idk how it would work. he was thinking that when he wants to feed him he would give him formula but I just want my baby to have breast milk. so then he said why don't you pump your milk out and I'll feed it to him and i thought that would be the best thing but then I'm scared that my baby will get use to the bottle. I need help idk what to do because my husband really wants to feed him :/ and we need to come up...
What can I feed my son besides baby food and baby cereal. He doesn't like either of them. He's 6 months old
When do babies start sleeping through the night. My son is 2 months and still wakes to feed at least 2x...
Mine works full time and luckily makes enough for me to stay home. I only breast feed so their isn't much he can do there. He does how when he comes home he will play with him so i can cook dinner, and clean up for a little bit. We also do bath time together every night and he plays with him after the bath until he gets sleepy. On the weekends if we are going somewhere he gets the baby ready while I'm getting ready because I usually take much longer then him to get ready.
We also do weekly grocery trips together because it's easier if we go together.
But like I said I stay at home so he does more then I expect since he works so much.
