SAHM's schedule/routine
What's your daily schedule/routine with the new baby? Any quick tips on how to balance it all? I'm very curious how the experienced Mommy's get through certain things. I've been trying to get a good routine going but either the LO goes through a growth spurt or I get whatever I chance I can to sleep.

I'm following because my lo doesn't let me do anything.

I get nothing done. That's my routine.

I work overnights. I get home at 6:15. Baby wakes up almost as soon as I get home. She gets a bottle and stays up for a little bit. Once she is back napping, I sleep for a couple hours until my 3 year old gets up. Baby is usually up by then too. It's easy to get stuff done when she is awake. She will sit by my 3 year old while he plays or sometimes I put her in a carrier. During the day we don't have much of a set schedule because it's summer and we are out a lot. Once the evening comes, then we are on a schedule. Dinner around 5. Baby can nap whenever during the day but once 6pm comes, I make her stay up until bedtime. Baths at 7:30. Baby is in bed around 8:15. 3 year old is in bed at 9. Then if I have work I leave at 9:40. Sometimes I can sneak in a nap for myself during the day, if not I catch up on sleep when I don't work. I consider myself a stay at home mom since I woke overnights and am home all day long everyday

My daughter wakes up around 6:30-7 when my husband gets up for work and she eats and goes back to sleep for a couple hours, usually until 10. While she sleeps in the morning I shower and clean as much as I can before she gets up. The rest of the day is a gamble! some days she's awake most of the day after her morning nap and some days she sleeps all day. The morning nap is a guarantee though so I take advantage of it. Lately my daughter has been awake more but she's a really good baby and doesn't cry unless she's hungry or needs her diaper changed so I can have her in the swing or on her play mat and I can clean and do whatever while she plays.
I would try and sleep when she sleeps when she was first born but found myself not getting anything done so I just sleep at night when she sleeps and deal with the tiredness! Usually she sleeps pretty good though, a 4-5 hour stretch and then 2-3 more hours until we wake up in the morning.

We don't have much of a routine yet at this point. We have four kiddos. 15,13,2 and baby boy is 9 weeks. The only thing we really stick to at this point is afternoon nap time and bed time, I do lay down when the two little ones do. In another week or so I probably won't. I tend to get in to more of a routine and schedule somewhere between 4-6 months. We kind of let the baby dictate and with it being summer we like to be out and about so cleaning and stuff gets done in the evenings or whenever I can sneak it in. The more deep cleaning stuff I do on the weekends when I have the hubby here to help with the kiddos.

I get up at 4 for the gym get back home by 6:40 am. I was some bottles and shower, My daughter ( 3 months old) wakes up around 7:30, toddler (3 years old) he wakes up around 8. We get up I make him breakfast & then feed both of them. Around 9:30 we get dressed I feed her once more. We pack up and head to town to do our daily errands.
We always return home no later than 12:30 nap time is no later than. 1. I put my toddler in bed he goes down for nap. Make Harper a bottle she goes down for a nap.
Mommy gets some quiet time to clean or relax from 1:30-3:30 or 4. When the kids wake up I give my daughter a bottle and snack for my son.
We play until daddy gets home around 5:30-6
He gets home & takes over the kids while I cook dinner. 8:00pm is bath time for both kids. Get them both to bed no later than 8;45 pm.
Then crash around 10 pm to do it all again tomorrow ?
You'll get your own routine soon

the key is to do it while baby is sleeping or while baby wearing. when she goes through a growth spurt it all kinda gets thrown off but I try my best to stick to daily routines.
-Get up by 9,baby usually falls back asleep 8-11ish after early morning feed(get up earlier if I want to workout)
-Clean bottles for the day
-Make bed/pick up after husbands nightly and morning mess
-Pick out baby girls outfit
-Get dressed
-Do my makeup and hair(sometimes no hair, depends on if baby has woken up)
-baby wakes up I change her diaper, apply lotion, get her dressed and feed her. This all usually takes about an hour.
-We play for a while until she starts getting tired again. I put her back to sleep.
-Around 1ish I clean/do dishes/tidy up/laundry
-Eat something
-Baby wakes up, diaper, feed, play, sleep. (Again takes about an hour or more)
-Me time.
-baby wakes up around with husband gets home (6ish)
-change diaper and feed
-feed husband and myself
-shower while daddy spends time with baby
-maybe go for a walk, but mostly just spend some time in the backyard
-play and try and keep her occupied until 9pm(no more naps or she won't sleep through the night) baby also cluster feeds and is super fussy from 6-9...not sure why
-9pm bedtime routine starts. Diaper change with destin diaper rash cream and overnight diaper, clean onesie, lotion applied, bedtime story read, fed and laid down in her bassinet.
-repeat

Thank you. This has definitely helped in many ways. It always makes me feel better when I know I'm not alone :)
Another question: Ladies who workout, how do you get the energy with being so exhausted from no sleep?
I want to workout so bad but I think that's why I'm trying hard for a routine so it can be more regular. Maybe I'm just pushing it too early? My little guy is 11 weeks.

Mine is crazy lol. My alarm goes off at 7. I go downstairs start the coffee and make my husbands breakfast and lunch. Then I wake him. My 3 kids seem to wander down around this time. My oldest (13) takes the dog out while I set the table and get their breakfast going. Then while they are eating and hubby showers I pump. My hubby goes to work. Baby is usually up around 8-830 then I feed her and change her and get her dressed for the day. Do whatever till lunch where I make lunch and clean up. My husband is off work at 5 and home by 530 I start dinner, depending on how long it takes , so it's done by the time he gets home. When he comes home we have a family dinner. I pass baby to daddy for daddy time, the other kids usually decide they need daddy time then as well, I clean the dinner mess. 630 starts showers. First our 4 yr old, 6 yr old then the 13 yr old. Then they have desert. Then its family time till bed time. They brush their teeth, go to the bathroom , have their bed time story, and go to bed. Baby gets her bath at around 8 and a bottle of breast milk by 9 I swaddle her and hand her to daddy to rock and I pump then I put her to bed. Oh and during the day, I pump for half hr every 2 hrs. Then we are in bed by 10.

I forgot to put that I workout also! Whenever I can. Usually while she's sleeping I'll do squats and I do 8 minute abs on YouTube. If she's awake I usually put her on her play mat and hang out with her on the floor while I do 8 minute abs

I have no energy to workout lol but I have this picture on my phone that says "wow I really regret doing that workout....said no one ever" and I kinda motivates me lol I just do 10min here and there (abs, squats...really no cardio)

I get my workout in by doing it super early. I wake up at 4:15 am to leave by 4: 40 get to my trainer & work out fr 5:15-6;15 get back home by 6:40 so hubby can get to the office by 7:10. I have one Starbucks coffee at some point midmorning but I sometimes will squeeze in a nap during the kids nap time (maybe a 30 minute quickie). Other than that nothing, I'm pretty much dead tired by bedtime but I love my me time at the gym. It's a trade off I guess, i would rather be dead tired but in shape than well rested & not ?

My older two are almost 14 and 9, so they do majority of cleaning. We have a cleaning schedule. Adah and I get up sometime between 7:30-9 am, she eats, might play for a little bit then she naps for a couple of hours. I try to do some laundry and cleaning while she's asleep, maybe even eat lunch. Then she gets up, eats, plays for a while and goes back to sleep, usually only for a little bit. She power naps most of the afternoon, and usually only has one long nap in the late afternoon. I try to work out while she's sleeping. Her daddy gets home and she spends time with him. We go to bed around 10. I have to say my big kids and hubby are a huge help.
