I am so sick of...

people saying "enjoy your quiet time now", or "get your sleep while you can".

Комментарии

I hate the "I hope y'all ready" and "it's not gone be easy" like mfer I'm not the first person to ever get pregnant! Those are not words of encouragement ?

I definitely sick of people telling me to get all the sleep I can get now.

1. I have a 4 year old I still have to wake up with and i watch my 2 year old nephew 5 days a week... it's not like I can sleep in right now anyway!

2. I'm soo uncomfortable at night and hurt everywhere that I'm not sleeping at night anyway! At least when baby is here I'll sleep when she sleeps but I'll actually be able to get comfortable.

Love this! God I remember one day at a week old when he peed on himself yet again at the changing table. I started to clean him and he peed again.. Then.. Though I thought that 8lb chunk had no more liquid peed on me as I tried to pick him up out of his pee. I literally broke down sobbing and my husband had to come in and get him. I wanted it for years, I wanted for months, but those precious first days are the biggest of your life!

Waking up uncomfortable and pregnant but having no one to tend to is SO different then waking up and having to immediately tend to a baby before you can even think about yourself. No one thinks you don't know your pregnant (believe me, I know, I have thrown up daily 6-41 weeks both pregbancies) but the selfishness is gone when baby comes.

But yeah - only applies to first time mom! Second and third you can't rest haha. Damn toddlers

Yes ? Preach it! Lol This is all I meant from the original post. It's just something that annoys me when it's on repeat. And whether or not people say it because it's true or they wish they'd taken the advice doesn't mean crap to me. Everyone is different, including every baby. Like, my mil tries to say my baby will be big because hers was. Because ya know, that's what I wanna hear when I'm so close to giving birth -__-

Or she mentions how her baby needed constant attention. This is all about my husband lol On the other hand I tell her my family and mother all say I was a great baby. Even quiet actually. It just depends just like many of you have said. And yes just because I'm a ftm doesn't mean I don't know anything about babies. I hate that stereotype! Like someone mentioned having so many nieces and nephews, we're very close with friends and family who have babies. I just can't wait to have my son and enjoy his presence. Because he's going to be my everything. :)

5 more days ???

I totally feel you. It does get annoying to hear the same thing over & over. Obv we got pregnant & know what's to come. We've also had to deal with insomnia, restless nights, leg cramps, uncomfortable sleep positions, circulation problems & waking up in the middle of the night countless times to use the restroom. I already have a daughter & know what to expect. I'd rather have my baby out & be comfortable than deal with the uncomforts of pregnancy. So yes I understand what you mean. Having a baby is a positive thing tho. I had my 1st when I was 18 & it doesn't mean life is over & you will never sleep again. The 1st year is the toughest but after that things get easier. My daughter is now 14 & many ppl have told me I have to start all over like its a bad thing.. This time I have my bachelors degree, my own house & am better off financially so I'm actually looking forward to "starting all over." ? P.S. Ignore the negativity

Hahaha! Drove me nuts when I was pregnant with my first! But really ppl are not saying it because you don't understand or wtv, they are saying it because they think it is something nice to say & seriously wished they listened to this advice themselves when they were pregnant! Lol! As much as I'm so excited to meet our second, I'm enjoying life as it is with my 2 year old for now.. (btw only started "sleeping through the night" when I was about 20 weeks pregnant)

Guess what I'm doing.. I'm currently awake at 3am, been up since 1.. Knowing I will be up at 6, but unfortunately contractions woke me up.. I laid in bed thinking okay get your sleep now.. Even if you are in labor, sleep now because you will regret it if you don't.. But I just couldn't go back to sleep.. I really should.. Thanks for the reminder everyone.. Goodnight! Lol!

Omg, thought I was the my one!!!!!! One of the things that erk my nerves the most!!! " hope your ready ", " its not gonna be easy " okay? and your point is? People act like the just know everything.. Like I've never been around a baby, I think I know what is what!

bwahahahaha i heard that a million times with my first and seriously about a week after lo was born was my first good nights sleep in well over 6 months haha i can't wait to have this baby in 6 days to be able to sleep again and my angel slept 6 hours at 1 1/2 months 8 hours at 4 months and 12 hours at 7 months and now she is 14 months and will sleep anywhere from 12-16 hour nights in bed at 7pm every night and never up before 7 am so u may or may not have issues with sleep after don't let everyone scare u into thinking ull never sleep again if it weren't for the insomnia id be sleeping over 8 hrs a night and napping with baby girl twice a day lol

I agree. Sleep sucks right now. I'd much rather be awake taking care of my baby then laying here at 130 am, uncomfortable, and with horrible heart burn.

Нравится Ответить

I completely understand why they say that, this being my fifth child, but I'm too ready to have my little one and hearing just relax is the last thing I want to hear lol

Нравится Ответить

I remember feeling exactly the same with my first! Annoyed at everyone telling me to "rest before the baby comes" I would sit and think, "ugh I barely rest now?"

But once the baby came I started to kind of wish I listened. My son is now 3 and resting if I'm even that lucky just isn't the same. Be patient mama! And I guess like others have said they're just trying to help, but I get how you feel!

I'm with you on this! It actually irritates me when people say it! I have seven nephews and nieces and both my brother and sister have told me the first months are the easiest as baby sleeps a lot of the time! But then I have annoying people saying oh just you wait and see...with that many babies born into the family don't you think I already have an idea what a baby is like?!!!! Lol x

Thank you! I'm pretty sure that's how I will be as well. Can't wait :)

I got wayyyy better quality rest with my newborn than I did while pregnant. When you're pregnant there's no energy no Matter what, ur exhausted. And I can't stand the taste of coffee while pregnant or anything, but after pregnancy even though baby barely slept, I was able to stand it better, drink coffee, stay up later, Etc & feel way better than I ever did while pregnant. :)

Нравится Ответить

I swear your body doesn't let you sleep in the third trimester to prepare you for a newborn !

Нравится Ответить

Everyone told me that in my first pregnancy and I would just say "oh I know". They told me he would cry and cry for no reason-_-. I knew that would happen because he's a baby lol But what happened when he was born? He was literally the best baby! He never cried for anything!! He would just wake up and coo at us to feed him. He was great:) People now are like it most be hard for you to sleep with a two year old. Nope he sleeps in until 11 or 12 everyday. And stays up until midnight. I literally love his schedule! It's prefect for us both. Now once the new baby is here I know it's going to be different but Noah seems to adapt really good when it comes to change.

Dont listen to people because they don't know how it's going to turn out, just kindly smile and nod:) You never know your baby can be great and sleep with you;)

I hated it first time round when people said it too. Now that I'm expecting no2 I totally understand why people say it. They aren't trying to patronise you (that's what I thought at first). I wish I had done things different first time around x

Нравится Ответить

Ha! You must be a first time mom!

Girlfriend, I used to get annoyed too when I was pregnant with my first. You know what I didn't do either? Listen to them!! And holy moly do I wish I had.

Pregnant with a toddler is a whole different ball game! There is zero time for rest. ZERO! And I know it'll only get worse once babe is here.

What I wouldn't give to sleep or wake up on my own terms!

Trust me and trust them, sleep and rest. It's gunna be the last time for a long time you will be able to.

And I am one of the lucky ones who's baby slept through the night and napped!

im sick of ppl askin me 'am i ready? heck yea im ready i have no choice lol

I am!!!!

I understand the frustration! I work with the public and hear that kind of stuff all the time. I politely reply that this is my THIRD pregnancy and I am very aware what to expect lol with an 8 yo girl and a 3 yo boy, I'm quite used to not having quiet time anyway lol and you are so right about the sleep, I think none of us mommies are sleeping at this point lol

Нравится Ответить

Ugh yes i was just saying this. I rarely ever get more than 4 hiurs of sleep, pee every twn mins, shoulder is sore, pelvic soreness, and my mind won't shut off as im 38 weeks and nervous as heck!! Lol

Нравится Ответить

I'm with you 100 percent! My friends and family have been hounding me to get pregnant for 7 years! Telling me how great and rewarding it is. Then I got pregnant and they started in with "your never gonna sleep again" and "Oh just wait until..." It does get super annoying. I've been preparing myself for lack of sleep. Crying. Hell I'm even prepared for poop finger painting. However I pray that doesn't happen! ?

Lol "smack her through the phone". Lol I totally envisioned that. Why can't people say other things instead of stuff like that? Or if they've got nothing positive to say then let's not mention it at all, how about that one ?

Нравится Ответить

My friend with a 2 year old sent me about 5 texts at 6:30am today about something SO stupid and unimportant. I lost my shi*! And I said "is this necessary at 630am?!?!!!" And she replies with well ya know you should be getting up early just wait for the baby to be here. I wanted to smack her through the phone!!!! I don't EVER sleep now! It literally chaps my ass when my family or friends start a sentence with "just wait..." ??

Нравится Ответить

Omgosh I get soooo friggin irritated when ppl tell me that...or the "just wait till _____(fill in the blank)" I KNOW I won't be sleeping through the night for a while so stop reminding me!!! Lol

Нравится Ответить

It annoyed the hell out of me first pregnancy. I felt the same exact way. But holy s*** is it true. And now I find myself thinking it now when talking with other first time moms...so I guess I see where every party involved is coming from in this case.

Нравится Ответить

I agree with you, it's so annoying, you just wanna say really.?! You don't say, we all know it's going to be hard, tiring and most of the part stressful, but we knew that before we got pregnant, I can't wait to get stuck in ☺️ and see all the great moments my baby has and if it was that bad ppl wouldn't keep having kids, would they!?! Not long now ladies!! ??

Нравится Ответить

I was 13 when my mother had another baby...so I was fully aware of what it was like hearing a baby cry throughout the night and waking up in the early morning! I am doing that now...cuz of the pregnancy ! I would rather have my baby and no sleep then sleep and no baby! I understood the price of having a child when I conceived her and it gets old really fast when people try to tell me all the time to sleep or taken it easy rather than work! Its also like "are u going to buy her all her needs?! NO?! Ok then..."

Нравится Ответить

I agree with OP! Also, it doesn't matter how much rest/sleep we get now, we are going to be tired after no matter what! So annoying when people say that.

@MamaPatch lol ? Totally understand. I don't sleep in unless I wake up a dozen times, have breakfast and go down for a nap. I'm a morning person naturally. My mil is staying with me for a month and then my husband leaves for the whole month of June but I know I'll be okay. I have a lot of faith in myself :)

@annette Oh most definitely. I'm not rude to people who say things like this but I did have to tell my mil today that I'm just on edge with stressing out about birth. And she understood, she actually said she was just trying to lighten up the mood. That's how she deals with things like this tho, she thinks her "sense of humor" is a fix. But I didn't say anything nasty to her. I understand where she's coming from. But then inside I felt this post haha ??

Нравится Ответить

I understand but like many of the pp's, every time I hear someone complain about lack of sleep during pregnancy I silently think "Just wait..." Difference being I don't say it out loud! ;-) I mean, I have a 3 year old and he's a good sleeper but there is no more sleeping in. 6:30 am is a late morning. Let alone the old ways of to bed when I wanted, going out, rolling out of bed for a leisurely shower, boozy brunches, the list goes on and on and on...okay I'll stop now!!!!

Lol oh geez!! Today seems like the day I might be annoyed with this group smh Can't a chick freaking rant? Damnn!

What do I want people to tell me?! Lol I want people to tell me I'm doing a great job and I'll be a great mother not randomly text me "I hope you're enjoying your quiet time while you can". That's just depressing to hear on the repetitive side. How can it not be annoying to hear that over and over again!?

@sheryl Exactly!! I don't see anything wrong with that after having to deal with some of the things we've had to for 9 months. And we've all had our own difficulties. I just want to be excited my baby is coming and not feel like he's a burden or something negative because I can't get enough sleep. I just don't need people stating the obvious. Eat. Sleep. I can't wait to have my body back and have a little dude to watch grow up. Including we didn't think we could even have children.

Нравится Ответить

Omg yessss!! I just politely nod my head! But inside I've repeatedly told them off its soo annoying!!

Нравится Ответить

I completely agree with you. It's like seriously I have not had a full nights sleep this entire pregnancy. I can't wait for baby to be here so I can get my body back and sleep on my front!

Нравится Ответить

people try to be nice to you! what do you want them to tell you?

Yes these sayings get annoying , but they couldn't be more true ! Sometimes I even forget how drained I will be until I remember back when my kids were babies...

Lol if I have the chance to rest isn't that just common sense. I mean, I'm pregnant and naturally always tired. I obviously rest when I can but telling people to do so is just annoying. As if for 9 months we had no idea what's been going on lol

Нравится Ответить

I felt the same way when I was pregnant with my first, but now I know what they meant. Those first few weeks were harder than I could have ever imagined and more wonderful than I could have ever imagined. It's obnoxious though bc saying that won't make you go rest more. Just ignore it.

Нравится Ответить

I wish people would stop saying that. I wanted this since I was little. Obviously im ready for it!

Нравится Ответить

I hate it when people tell me to rest or take it easy.. Who's going to look after and entertain my son in the meantime? And it's usually people who don't have kids who say it..

Нравится Ответить

Seriously coming from a second time mom, rest while you can because you will literally never be able to again. Lol

Нравится Ответить

I don't think it's dumb at all to say rest while you can. Yes a baby sleeps at some point but never again in your life (at least not for years) can you be selfish and think about only yourself! I wish I had done more for myself in those last weeks before my first baby
