Can someone explain baby led weaning?

I'm starting at 6 months (EBF), and I'm doing baby led weaning as well.

My first two kids gastro doctor had me start them on solids at 4 months. I will be doing the same with this LO!

Just some food for thought for those that are thinking of starting solids before 6 months. There is a lot of research that points to it being detrimental to babies in the long run.

Mine is almost 4 months and I've started him on solids. He is hungry all the time and he eats a whole small container at a time twice a day. He hasnt had any problems at all.

He says 4 months is okay to start??

6 months, I EBF and I'm sad to have to start it's a weird feeling, I felt it with my first also.

My pediatrician recommended 6 mo. We plan on doing baby lead weaning.

hope his pediatrician lets him put rice in his bottle soon because my baby acts like he’s never satisfied and always hungry !

I’ll wait closer to 6 months but I kind of take my cues from baby. First thing I look for is sitting independently, then the extinction of the tongue thrust, and then interest in foods.

Pretty sure my pediatrician gives the okay at four months, so I’ll be waiting for him to say it’s alright. He’ll be about 4 and a half months when it’s time for his appointment. They want them to be able to sit up first as well also.
