I think it's crazy that doctors start talking about inducing early.... there's no way to know exactly when you ovulated and when you got pregnant. I thought doctors were suppose to talk you out of doing things that could potentially hurt you or baby but even my doctor tried to talk about it at 39 weeks. Today is my due date and I won't be inducing until 42 weeks unless something comes up.

Pitocin can cause fetal distress and can even harm you, you are even 2 times more likely to end with emergency cesarean when inducing. I'm not against it for medical reasons but I don't understand how people get induced because they're "done being pregnant"

I'm 40 weeks today and only 1 cm dilated. Doctor won't schedule an induction or even do a sweep or anything...it's so hard not to be crazy irritated when people post about sweeps getting done at 38 and such. I'm so ready my body just isn't ?

I was the same my initial due date was aug 26 then they pushed me back to sept 6 then said I wasn't going to make it til then so I was scheduled to be induced on the 30th and had her on the 31st @ 39wks we are blessed she is very healthy. My doctor did not mention induction until my 38wk appointment and when we talked abt it she had no objections because she knew my situation & baby's health was good so we had it set up! I think they will talk to you more abt it when you get closer!

I have GD and the doctors have been talking induction but I've been adamant that I do NOT want induced unless its absolutely 100% necessary. We've been keeping a close eye on baby's size, fluid levels, etc, so I am hoping that she comes naturally.

I love not knowing! And it honestly baffles me as to why an OB would schedule an induction date unless there were a medically charged reason. I can see if you're going past 41 weeks but I am a big believer in just letting baby come when he's ready as long as it's suspected to be a healthy delivery. There are so many unnecessary medical interventions these days, I just want mine to come when he comes. Women have been doing this for thousands of years, our bodies know what's up ?

I'm the opposite! I love not knowing when baby we'll make his debut. That's the way nature intended! Lol. I have a midwife so they don't push induction at all thankfully. My last baby came 10 days after her due date and it was the easiest, fastest labor.

This is my third pregnancy and second vbac (if successful ?). Due tomorrow, 9/2, and my doctor scheduled an induction for 9/6 as he doesn't want me going too far past my due date being that I'll be attempting a vbac. Apparently, the success rate of a vbac drops if you don't go into labor on your own. I'm quite nervous about it since I went on my own with my first two and they were a couple days ahead of their due date. Needless to say, I've been ramping up my walking game these last few days! ?

I wish my doctors weren't pushing for induction. But, I'm too scared that something might go wrong if I refuse and I would never be able to forgive myself.

Going into labor is such a big part of the adventure! When? Where? How? It's a story you tell for the rest of your life! Every year on my birthday my mother calls me, no matter where in the world we are, and tells me my birth story. I think you're really lucky!

It's killing me to. I want so badly to hold her. But now that the time is coming close I'm worried I'm going to miss being pregnant.

I will sit in her room and just play with her stuff

Side note: these hemorrhoids are about the only thing making me want to have her earlier. *sigh*

With my first I was induced at 39.5 weeks due to pregnancy induced hypertension as I was working my way toward pre-e. With this baby, I have GD and a scheduled C at 39 weeks. I hope we make it until then.

I am one of those crazy Mamas that wants to keep her baby in. I just know how much work they are once they are out.

I have an induction date and I'm worried my baby is huge and I'm worried he's going to get stuck. My doctor won't induce until 39 weeks and I really don't want a csection I refuse to have a csection surgery TERRIFIES ME. I just wish the doctor would listen to me and look at my small frame and take it into consideration.

And OBVIOUSLY I want a healthy baby.... all I'm trying to say is that the anticipation kills me and was wondering if anyone else can relate. No one would say they want to give birth to a premature baby who is not ready and is gonna spend time in the nicu?

My doctor doesint say anything? just says everything's good see you next week. I have no idea what to expect but I don't want to go into October ?

My doctor hasn't mentioned induction at all, she just tells me she doesn't think I'll make it to 40 weeks. With my son I gave birth at 38 weeks right before my appointment that week so I'm not sure if she would've mentioned induction then or not. I'd rather go into labor natural. I'm scared to get induced and then something doesn't go right and I'd need a c section.
