Switching doctors ?

Had a follow up appointment with my doctor today. Got to see baby again and hear the heartbeat which was awesome but I’m still sad. He let me know that they are going be at 50% staff coming up in December and their appointment availability is going to be severely impacted with only two doctors for all obgyn patients on base. I’m high risk and we were already preparing for extra appointments I’ll require and he wanted to be up front they might not be able to give me the best care in my third trimester. I have really enjoyed this doctor and am super sad to be leaving the naval hospital that’s 4 minutes from my house. I’m waiting for them to complete a referral to see if I’ll be relatively close with a ob or if they are going to send me directly to a high risk doctor which would mean all my appointments would be a hour away. He wants to check with the doctors in town to see who can take me. He’s right I rather switch now at 12 weeks than to come up after 28 weeks and not be able to be seen when I need to be. I don’t know any doctors here so hopefully this goes well.
