Please help, toddler fell!
My 14 month old was sitting on the couch and fell off, right on her head. It was about a 2 foot fall and it happened 10 minutes ago. I'm worried about neck injuries or a concussion. She screamed for about a minute then calmed down when I breastfed her and now she's drinking some milk. Should I take her in? Or just keep an eye on her? What exactly should I look for? Thank you experienced Mamas in advance!!
toddlers fall alot!! I'm going to sound like a bad aunt, but I was baby sitting my niece who was 2 at the time. making her lunch while she was watching mickey mouse club house, and I didn't know she was stood on the back of the couch pushing on the screen window in the livingroom, she fell right through and ripped the screen. I'm glad it wasn't crazy high up but god I still feel guilty to this day. she was okay but It was terrifying !!
I say this to give peace of mind. Toddlers are resilient and my youngest has proven that every day. When my youngest daughter was the same age she had to be watched like a hawk because she was a climber. In 30 seconds, she could be on a table. And she liked to jump off of things. ? We could never take our attention off her for a second. She's much different than my oldest that was born inherently understanding that it was not smart to do things you could get hurt doing.
One day, she climbed on the couch on my lap and was playing before she decided in a split second she was going to try to dive off the couch, head first, into our brick fireplace. I caught her by the leg but a second too late and only slowed her decent instead of stopping it completely. She fell about 2 feet and landed on her head.
Mom of the Year award, right here. ?
She had the biggest goose egg on her forehead for several days. It looked gnarly. I've never seen one so big. But she was fine.
We checked and made sure her eyes were dilating okay to light (if they don't, it's a sign of concussion). Shine a light in both eyes, one at a time, and make sure they dilate.
The nurses line will always tell you to take her in. It's a liability thing. "Just in case". More often than not, everything will be okay.
I just got off the phone with the nurse, she said to head to the ER just to be safe, so that's what we're going to do.
Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no,
his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me...
TWW!!
2dpo and on the tww journey. Anyone on the same dpo or close? Haven't decided if I will test at 12dpo or just wait and see if she shows up!!
Short Luteal Phase?
I've just started temping because I believe that the reason I haven't had a BFP yet, after 20 months, is because I believe I may have a Luteal Phase Defect.
Thank you everyone, we went to the ER and she is ok. I appreciate everyone's comments. So glad we went in, better safe than sorry. ❤
