??? my son is so used to eating nothing but junk food so now he won't eat anything unless it's chips or cookies or…

he ate! just some toast with jelly and some goldfish but still better than potato chips or candy ?

there was a time he didn't like sweets at all but the past couple months it's all he's been wanting. he used to be a huge meat eater lots of chicken, bacon, sausage, hamburger meat. into fruits more than veggies but he'd still a little here and there but just lately he's not been into it. I'm just going to keep doing what everyone suggested.

I gave him tons of different options to choose from today and I just kept saying no to the junk he was asking for and he eventually got a little bit in his belly.

If my son won't eat his food he gets crackers just plain ritz ones. He's 2 and now he's in a phase where he only like sweet foods like he'll eat apples and oatmeal but won't eat eggs and bacon. It's highly annoying and the only savory foods he seems to like are mac&cheese, French fries, and chicken nuggets. So it's a struggle yesterday I got him to eat roast chicken though but only with a side of sweet yams. So I guess we're making progress lol he still won't touch veggies

thanks ladies, I'm not giving in I know it will be worth it. I don't even talk to his dad besides for 5 minutes on sunday's but I'm going to text him and hopefully he'll agree

Stop feeding him junk. He WILL eat eventually. Keep offering healthier foods and he will adjust.

Dealing with this very thing with my 2 year old. If he had it his way he'd live off of fudge rounds and go-gurt. I finally got tired of him eating junk and just started fixing his plate and telling him you eat real food you get a treat after. First two nights was a lot of screaming and tears from both of us. But now he knows if he eats dinner he gets a treat after. Most of the time he eats his dinner and doesn't even want a treat after. I'm not saying he doesn't still put up a fight and try to get away with it but he eventually eats his dinner and hasn't gone to bed hungry yet. Just hang in there and be firm. Show him you mean it. Praying it happens easily and quickly for you.

I went through the same thing with my 4 year old son. The only difference in my case isn't that he ONLY wanted junk food, it was that HE WANTED to make the decisions on what he wanted to eat. And living with my mom, made it extra hard cause she'd make him whatever he wanted. When i decided ENOUGH was enough, I gave him a dilemma. Eat what's made for everyone or don't eat at all. He went 3 nights without dinner. No juice. No sweets. Unless he ate his dinner and a good amount of it. Finally realized he wasn't getting me to cave and now 2 weeks later, hes eating what we eat. Thank goodness. It was hard at first for me to know he's sleeping with an empty stomach but his doctor told me, just like a new born, of they are really hungry, they'll eat. Just be strong mama!!! It'll be worth it in the end.

he used to eat what I made him but now he's just very picky. not like I've never given him sweets before but not to live off of. I think coming and going from here and his dad's and the different meal plans might have something to do with it

He will eventually eat. Don't give in. That's how he got that way. He will eat when he gets really hungry and realizes he hasn't got any other choice.

I refuse to offer my 13month old ds anything else if he won't eat what's given to him.

If he doesn't eat it, I put it in the fridge and offer it to him for the next meal.

Only once I think did it take 3 attempts, but normally he will eat it at the next meal time ?

But he rarely doesn't eat ... he's a piggy ?

I've hid all of the junk food but he still isn't eating anything I put in front of him ? and it's hard to break the habit because he's at his dad's every other week & I know he feeds him a lot of crap

Find something that he likes that isn't crappy. I will neve4 be a fan of "they will eat when they're hungry" my son would literally starve and gag if forced him to eat something he hated. He is the same, he won't any fruits or veggies but will eat cracks, meat, cheese etc. Just keep trying different things.

He may go to bed hungry for a night or so but he wont starve. If you seriously want to break the habit stop making the crap available. He knows he will just make you feel guilty and give in. Smart kid

Don't give him anything else. Period. He'll cave and eat it when he's hungry.
