Birth control / breast feeding
Okay I feel like such an idiot. At my 6 week pp appt we discussed birth control methods and I decided to go with the pill. I've never been on any kind of birth control in my life. Anyways, I just started googling about breastfeeding while on the pill and it says it could lower your supply! I just started it this week, (I've only take it for the last 3 days) and I just started reading the papers it came with and it says "if you are breastfeeding consider using another birth control method until you are ready to stop breastfeeding. Birth control pills containing estrogen may decrease the amount of milk you make" UMMM. I feel so stupid for not thinking about how the pill would affect me and breast feeding. I'm never taking it again. I wanna cry. I hope it doesn't ruin breast feeding for me :( but come to think of it my baby has been extra fussy the last few days. Acting super hungry all day long. Idk if he's not getting enough milk or if it's a growth spurt. He's almost 8 weeks.

Typically you only get the progesterone only pill while breastfeeding. So good that you stopped the pill you have. It's dubbed the mini-pill. I hate it, I think it makes you spit and bleed unpredictably. Two, there is a growth spurt associated with the eight week mark.
Did your physician know you were breastfeeding? I'd call the office and make sure to get switched to the progesterone only pill. Thankfully you did your research!! I'm sure breastfeeding will continue to be successful. Drink a ton of water to bump supply in the meantime. Best of luck????
you want the mini pill; its only 85% effective however it wont affect supply.
