Shaking breast milk
Did anyone else know you supposedly shouldn't shake the breast milk? I had no idea but I just read a bunch of stuff online about it. I always shake the milk.

@patryc yeah I'll have to go back and find a link but if you google shaking breast milk a couple things come up. I was reading on Kelly mom about storing milk and it said stir don't shake so I googled it because it made me wonder. I always shake the milk so I was just wondering if anyone else had heard of this. Idk anything about it lol.
I'm sorry but shaking won't denature protein. Unless you are trying to make butter and shake it forever. Few shakes won't have an affect. Protective molecules - in assuming immunoglobulins aren't denature by shaking. They will be denatured by heat or acid. And the heat generated by shaking it for 5-10 seconds isn't sufficient.
Can you please post link to that information - would love to read it and check the sources.
@newlyironman yeah I gotta start doing that. I usually just shake the hell out of it lol
This is what it says! "Don't Shake the Milk. Because shaking expressed mothers' milk denatures the shaped molecules of the protective proteins, leaving only the pieces - the amino acids - the parts."
I've read it should be swirled as well
