Bottles / breastfeeding
For those of you that breastfeed and pump/bottle feed what kind of bottles do you use? I breastfeed and only use the pumped milk when I go out or if my boyfriend feeds him at night. So he basically gets one bottle a day but the bottles come out way to fast for him and get all over him, I've tried dr browns and the Medela bottles but neither are slow enough. I feel like he's gonna choke. Help.

Doctor told me to use preemie nipples but I do use doctor brown and he goes back n forth without a problem

We tried a few but as of right now my LO likes the munchkin Latch the best.

If you have Tommee Tippee bottles try the Very slow flow nipple. Most of tommee tippee slow flow nipples start at 1. You have to find the nipples that are 0. They are very hard to find, I have 3 that came from a newborn set someone bought for us. I was able to find another at Babies R Us, but you had to buy the bottle with it.
Alot of my friends recommend Dr Brown as well.

My baby is a week old and I'm still using the hospital nipples that comes with the little disposable 2oz bottles , when I pump I just transfer the milk in there and use that rubber nipples instead of the silicone. When she start drinking more then I'll swith to regular Dr. Browns bottles.

I too use the Dr. Browns with the premie nipple.

Google "bottle nursing." Regardless of the bottle you use, there are some techniques to have better feeding. It worked well for my first.

Advent natural, and i bought the size 0 nipples which are slowest flow possible -- works well!

Mine isn't really picky but he likes Munchkin Latch the best. And I just got Lansinoh Momma and Comotomo to try as well and he really likes those too. We have those three, Tommee Tippee, Dr. Browns, and Avent. The only one he just really does not like Tommee Tippee.

I used Avent Natural with my daughter while she was in daycare and they worked good. With this baby, I've tried the Latch bottles as well. He seems to do better with the Avent but also took the Latch bottle well. Definitely sit baby upright and use a slow flow nipple. Look up info on kellymom.com about paced feeding.

I have the avent ones but also the munchkin latch and I think I like those more, my baby doesn't seem to try to chug it with that one compared to the avent ones

These Breastflow bottles were recommended to me by a lactation consultant. They are like the breast and worked for my daughter when we were doing both bottle and breastfeeding.

I use Avent natural with the 0+ months nipple - its number 1. She only spills at the end when she is being lazy and just doesn't want to swallow anymore - just playing around.

I am having the same problem. My son only gets a bottle when I have to go to store or something but all bottles he has choked on. They all even have smallest nipple size you can get. We have to sit him up all the way and take bottle out when he start gulping a lot.
