Taking baby out How long are you all waiting to take your babies out in public? I wanted to take him…

At about three weeks old I took my girl out for quick errands etc. I couldn't stay inside that long. I kept it quick though and kept her covered. I can't remember our first real outing though.

As soon as I feel up to leaving. I plan on taking the first couple of weeks while DH is here to really rest though, use my bengkung wrap, etc so probably after that.

We were out & about right after discharge last time.

Depends what you mean by out. We have been out for walks since she was 3 days old. We go almost every day - weather permitting.

Out among people - we went to a festival/carnival when she was 2 weeks. I take her to stores with me; went to IKEA when she was 3 weeks.

I'm also FTM. But we are waiting until 6-8 weeks when she gets her shots to take her to the city - NYC and into subway system.

My son is 2 weeks old and I've taken him with me to run quick errands but I keep him covered. Sunday for fathers day, was my husbands bday as well and he went to his parents with all the fam, I didnt because that house is a full house and the kids are constantly getting sick. Thats the biggest thing to be precautious of, so in that kind of case I rather keep him home til he gets his shots

Gosh probably pretty early on, I've had winter babies so I've always had to stay kind of cooped up so having a summer baby is exciting since there's less worry of sickness and the sun will do baby good ?

We have been taking baby out since the day after we came home. Mainly to the grocery store almost daily and other household stores for items we have needed. We just keep his carrier covered with a muslin car seat cover and go on about our business.

I also have been taking baby out since the beginning. I did with my daughter too. He goes with me to drop off and pick his sister up from preschool, to the grocery store, other errands. I've lost a ton of weight since he was born so I took him with me to get some pants that fit today because everything was falling off. Dropped by my mother's office because they all wanted to see him. While I don't think everyone should be touching all over a newborn, I am not a believer in keeping them in the house for weeks before leaving. It is impractical for me as I am a single parent and I would go crazy being trapped at my house that long.

We've taken baby girl out for visits to grandma, quick errands, and Auntie house at 2 weeks. She went to church at 4 weeks. I normally keep her covered and avoid a bunch of people holding her. I could not sit in the house for 6-8 weeks and not go crazy.

I've been very focused on not disrupting my 4 year old's normal routine so baby was at the park before 48 hours old (we go almost every day) and at the grocery store and baseball practice at 5 days old. I took my first everywhere from the beginning also, we went out to eat on the way home from the hospital with him ?

Pretty much right away.?

Oh heck ya lol. 25 days is plenty. I honestly go out I have two younger kids and I don't fear germs etc. I'm normally out grocery shopping couple days old, specially now that this is our third. We're also military and we move July 6th... I haven't even had our third yet I'm due June 30th.

Thanks ladies. My dads coming down in a couple weeks to see us and I didn't wanna sit in the house the whole time. He'll be 3 and a half weeks so I think it's okay to take him some places. I'm just overly paranoid about everything lol. I'm already going crazy sitting in the house.

I've had no choice but to take my daughter out. She had slightly elevated jaundice levels and they required me to drive to the doctors office which is 35 minutes away from me for 3 days straight after being released from the hospital, I also have other children and a SO who works so grocery shopping and other errands rely on me. She's gone wherever I've had to go. We've also visited family I do make everyone wash their hands, I don't take her out of her seat very often when we are outta the house and when I do it's because I need to feed her and I keep her covered up and cool we've also gone to the park

I've been out with my baby everyday pretty much since he's been out of hospital. There's no set time Hun it's just when you feel comfortable?

I took my son to the playround when my daughter was 1 day old.

I try to go out every day (weather permitting). For me staying in the house all day everyday with a new born will lead to depression. I need sun especially.

We're going to take him out in the garden when he's a couple days old so he can feel the breeze and get used to his surroundings then we have a park across the road we're going to take him over when he's a week or two but probably not anywhere else until he's 3-4 weeks

I always had my kids out early. My son, first child, was at church at 6 days old, sea world at 11 days old. I can't stay in the house that long I would go crazy. I keep them close to me when they are that little. They are in a carrier, covered in the car seat or wrapped in a blanket in my arms.

I have 4 girls now. Life can't stand still unfortunately and it's summer time. My new baby had already been lake shore while my Hunnie and other ( 12y, 11y, 1 1/2y)girls when tubing and waking boarding in the boat lol even my 1 1/2 year old cruised out with them. We've been go karting, to splash parks, grocery shopping, out to eat, the the ER twice, over the grapevine to the coast. Wish I could stay home for a bit but there's too much on my agenda.

We had her at target at 3 days old, and an art festival at 4 days. Multiple restaurants and shops since then and she's just a week. We keep her car seat covered. Everyone is different though so do what you are comfortable with.

I met a lady at sea world today with a tinny baby. I asked how old and she said 2 weeks old and dad said so is this one. They had their 2 week old twins and 3 year old and were having a great day. Mom looked amazing. They kept one in the car seat covered and the other in a mobby wrap on mom.

Took my babe out shopping at 5 days old, a few days later we went to the zoo, and made plenty of trips to see family and friends in the weeks following.

I think it's up to you n what your ok with. My son is two weeks now n has been to a few stores, my work, he's sisters soccer game, to of dance practices and one recital. He is just fine n I just made sure a bunch of people didn't touch him.

My mom is old school and I did nothing for 6 weeks, besides doctor appointments. I'll be doing the same this second time around. I've had 3 miscarriages before this pregnancy and I really would like to stay home as long as I can.

I'll start goin out next week my baby will be maybe 9 days old. but it will just be to the park on a walk to get ice cream Lil stuff like that. I have 3 other kids and staying in the house all day with them is torture they need to run and play.

after he is 3weeks we will go where ever as long as his check up is ok. I baby wear so I'm not to concerned

My husband is from the Caribbean and they really don't believe in letting baby leave house for the first few weeks so I'm trying to be fair and honor his wishes. I have gone out alone for a coffee or to run and ran diapers up at the store (literally a 2 min drive) but my husband has taken over driving my older boys to soccer and jui jitsu and doing the grocery shopping. Thankfully it's summer vacation so kids are home anyway most of the time.

I had my daughter Saturday and took her out Sunday. When I was released from the hospital I came home and after my daughter and son were fed I took Sienna and Blakeleigh to the park. We were actually out every day for the first three days after she was born. It was the same with all my babies, except the other two were November babies so it wasn't as enjoyable. I'm happy to finally have a summer baby.

I haven't had my baby yet, but we won't be out much. I do not tolerate heat well and it's way too hot during the day for me to go out and do anything.

Been to 3 drs appointments and 1 visit to the office. Drs office said just to cover up in areas with larger crowds and keep sick people away, but otherwise everything else ok.

My daughter is 4 days old and today and we went and got ice cream and to the grocery store. No one touched her though.
