@Nene great advice, we have been to the doctor before the last, we got chest xrays and an ok bill of health, just viral. Haven't gone for this one yet, but have been in touch with office. I agree with your thoughts and think anytime anyone has a little one to call in just to be sure. His fever seems like it is breaking toady, but if be it's not gone tomorrow he'll be at the doctor.

When my baby had a respiratory infection I used Zarbees cough syrup for babies it's all natural. I rubbed his feet, chest, and back with baby Vicks rub. I also used a vaporizer in his room, and asthma breathing machine with albuterol when needed. The biggest thing that help keep fever down is pedialyte and Tylenol. I kept him home out of the air, and I disinfected everything. I hope this helps. My baby was completely cleared up in a weeks time.

I think when babies are born in the fall it kinda sucks because they get more sick since they are so little their bodies don’t know how to fight the colds as well as babies that are born in the early summer which by the time fall comes around they are a little bit older. Am I making sense? Lol. Like for example a baby that is born let’s say in May, by the time the flu season comes around they will be close to 6 months and by that time their bodies are a bit more developed and you can give them different kinds of medicine. On the other hand a baby that is born in September by the time flu season comes they are around 3 months and there is really nothing you can give them. Idk, that’s the way I see it ??‍♀️. Both of my kids have been September babies and my first had bronchitis for the first time when he was 6 months old. The only thing that I think works is not taking them out during the flu season and just constantly washing of the hands for everyone in the household. I am lucky that I get to be a stay at home mom this time around so thankfully Alexa hasn’t gotten sick as often. Hopefully your lo gets better soon.

Firstbump I suggest you taking your lo in to make sure no infection has developed, symptoms coming and going are classic signs of infection but I understand it can happen in day care/school as well, I only suggest that as precaution, my oldest went through the same thing when she went to day care and after 3 months of back to back colds she developed pneumonia, she was just under 18 months old at the time but the younger they are the quicker an infection can set in due to their immature immune system, same to op, get a check up just to be sure. Unfortunately there's not much you can do to prevent it, we can't catch the same virus twice back to back but if it is bacterial you can get it again right away so if your baby is not in day care, take steps to clean your home with disinfectants, I don't normally use them unless it's a stomach bug but if this cold keeps recycling clean regularly and wash all babies bedding every other day and toys and play area daily. If your lo goes to daycare you can ask them to take extra measures to prevent spreading anything, if they can separate the sock kids until their better and if you supply Lysol or Lysol wipes, hand sanitizer etc their more likely to take the extra steps. I know it's not your job to supply it but specifically daycare facilities are short on those items because the owner decides what to budget, private in home daycare are better with it as they will send home sick kids and they don't want all those viruses in their home so they do more to get rid of them. Bfing can prevent illness but it's more likely to reduce symptoms when they are sick so continue nursing and boost your vitamin c from natural sources like orange juice and zinc, boosting your immune system helps you pass more antibodies through your milk. We got a stomach bug when my daughter was about 6 weeks old and I believe it's due to bfing that she barely had a few days of mild diarrhea while the rest of us were hugging the toilet for 24 hrs. Last week she caught her first cold virus and it was rough but I did notice her symptoms got much milder after nursing and then would get worse again about an hour later so I nursed her every hr for about a week, we still ended up going to the dr on Friday because she started showing signs of dehydration after a week of diarrhea but I was able to catch it soon enough that she didn't need to be admitted to the hospital. She refused Pedialyte so I gave her frozen milk along with nursing hourly as I was directed to have her take in more fluids than she was losing so if you have a frozen stash that's an option. I hope your lo feels better soon. Sorry to ramble but if you have any questions I might be able to help with feel free to ask.
