My advice is to go into either a machine shop or somewhere like hobby craft or Dunelm. My first machine cost me £80 two years ago.. last year I spent £2000 on one ? sings, dances but does the sewing for itself and embroiders things. Hoping DD will start sleeping soon so I can actually put it to use.
I'm able to make capes etc for her and hadn't touched one since I was 16 xx
I can do simple stuff like skirts, bunting and fix things. Pinterest has lots of free patterns xx
I went to the local fabric warehouse, brought scraps and patterns. Greaseproof paper to trace them onto and made practice ones. There are courses, but I haven't had time to touch my machine in months xx

There's also one called Make! I can't recommend them enough easy to figure out and all the projects have ratings. I want to go and flick through mine now haha xx
I got some catch kidston books (make, sew, can't remember the others names) they come with all patterns for small projects like bags and cushion covers and stuff I built my confidence up and the did a short night course at my local college I think it was around 200 or 300 pound but I paid it off monthly and that was brilliant.
I've made a dress for someone for Chester races and I made myself a stuffed blazer with tartan turn up sleeves I am so proud of them.
Once you know the basics of the machine there's loads of good YouTube videos too. I am mostly self taught apart from the course which was just garment construction it was called xx
Are the lengths 18 20 22 pretty long for sew in
This is my very first time sewing a cloth diaper and I’m hooked! I’m a total newbie at sewing lol don’t mind the white snap I ran out of purple snaps 😅 #clothdiapers
HELP! My babyshower is in two days. Should i get the braids again? Or should I get another sew in? 💐
Today I plan on putting my sewing machine on and actual learn how to sew. Wish me luck.
🚨 Not pregnancy related 🚨 Any sewing Mommas? I have an amazing sewing machine but I'm so afraid to use it! How did you get started on your journey? Tips??

I sew regularly, my grandma was a seamstress when she was younger and she's taught me, if you're interested I'd start with a basic machine and work your way up but I'd suggest looking for one that has an overlocking stitch, I've just got a lovely singer for £400 but I use it a lot so it's worth the money, I'll never get rid of my trusty Frister and Rossman machine, it's 32 years old and still works ?, John Lewis currently have a huge sale on sewing patterns (£2.80 ish each pattern) and I've just spent £40 on them ? if you want to make your own patterns the pattern paper I use is called Burda. Also if you're after tester fabrics hunt out charity shops for bedding, it comes in large quantities and it's cheap ?
