School term dates: who do I complain to about the Christmas holidays?

This may sound stupid but who do I write to, to share my feelings about school term time dates? I'd like to moan about the Christmas dates! My sons school is an academy so they seem to be able to choose there dates within reason! Where as the school I work at isn't so they have the same dates as most the schools in the area! My sons school finish the 16th dec for Christmas and bsck the 4th! My school I work in doesn't finish till the 21st that's too close to Christmas! Doesn't give anyone any time to fit in any christmassy bits before it's over! I think it's a joke! I'd rather a shorter summer by a few days! Sorry rant over just wanna complain to who chose these dates lol

Try the governors first. Schools have recently been given powers to change them to suit them. We have three weeks for Xmas this year and 7 for summer! But have weird odd days off during the year too. A shorter Easter break which suits me fine xx

It says on the website that the head teacher is a governor maybe il go ask her tomorrow. She's a bit of a idiot so she prob won't care what I have to say anyway but worth mentioning to her x

My son also breaks up on the 21st. He's only 4, I think they should break up earlier. I hate him being at full time school and would love to be able to do some fun things in the run up to Christmas xx

The school I work in is trialling (next year) no inset days and all inset training being completed in twilight sessions. Gives us I think an extra 3 or 4 days holiday which will be added on to another holiday. Maybe worth a suggestion to your head although we've always broken up just days before Christmas ? we aren't til the 21st this year either.
