Dummy What age would you start to think about taking the dummy away?

Shell I took the twins ones away about 2months before their 2nd birthday, it wasn't half as bad as I thought it was and they don't even ask for it and they were so attached to theirs but they still have it for bed which I'm planning to take away at Christmas x

DD did it in exchange for her second birthday. We were in Disney so she gave it to goofy as he cooked her a birthday breakfast. She was old enough to understand it wasn't coming back. Before that she didn't and would cry every time xx

My son is 2 and won't let go!

I still remember my dummy so I must've been 3-3.5 when giving it up. I remember throwing it away in fire myself but my dad said it was for exchange for something nice so it wasn't that traumatic I suppose

I told my little girl that her nursery was collecting them for other children who didn't have anything. She gathered all twenty up.and put them I'n a box. And said she was taking them.. She was 2 and a half. Shes four now

Harry was 2 and a half. He only had it for sleeping so wasn't as attached to it as some kids. We wrapped it up in fairy wrapping paper and posted it to the fairies in return he got a present! X

My son has had no dummies during the day since about 12 months but he's 3 now and still has them at night. He loves them so much he can't wait to go to bed! I'm in no rush to take away his nightime dummy as once he's asleep it tends to fall out anyway!

Freddie is 15 months and only has it to sleep. Or for two minutes after he's hurt himself. He's got really good at handing it over as soon as he wakes up. No idea what to advise you but I'm following!

My son hasn't had a dummy for 4 weeks now He turns 2 on the 26th. He gave it up himself he bit a hole in his and didn't like the way that it felt so stopped using it and I chucked them in the bin x

When my eldest boy was coming up to two I just casually cut the top of the dummy off. He said it was broken and put it in the bin. That was it. Gone! ? not sure it will work on my youngest! Have no idea what happened to my middle one! ??

Daisy hasn't had hers for about a month now so 15months old she suddenly got really attached to it then one night she handed me and I asked if she wanted it and she let me keep it so I hid it and she's not asked for it since. She sleeps loads better without it now because of not loosing it x

Logan was obsesswd with his but was very surpised how easily he got rid i started of stopping it in the day for a few months n then gradually got him of it at night to he aswel . Hes not been of for long ...n hes three and a half been of probz 6 weeks .i think it helps when they have a good understanding because i explained to him that big boys dont use dummys and he said oh okay then mummy n gave it me n that was it a few unsettled nights though . My little girl doesnt have one thank god just never took to it xx
