How much tv do your kids watch? Just seen this on r & r and feel bad now, my tv is on from when my 7 year old gets up till me and oh go to bed tonight. We're not sat infront all day and the kids will come and go from playing, reading ect.. But not gonna lie its on all day!!

I'm the same as u, usually on all day but with the volume down unless we're watching something, it's just habit. My son tends to watch videos on YouTube on the tablet if he wants to watch stuff, we don't actually watch a lot of tv although it is always on x
Shellie·
That's how it is most days here back ground noise x
deleted-user·
If it's on but they're not sat watching it all day, I'd say it's fine. It's just background noise.
Besides you don't want tv to be such a treat that when it is on, the kids are glued to it!

My Olivia loves the tv? mostly music channel sand cartoons throughout the day way I see it if there happy leave them be they Americans are so dramatic ? xxx
deleted-user·
Im the same its on morning til night Kenzie rarely watches stuff thou he would rather trash my house xx
deleted-user·
Ours is on all day, same as most background noise and mainly music channels xx
deleted-user·
Mines on all day for background noise. My 6 month old will catch onto it every now and again, but it doesn't stop him playing
deleted-user·
Makes me feel better. We also have the TV on all day even if no one is watching it.
deleted-user·
I'm guilty of it as well.

Mines is on most the day if theres no school. But when my oldest is at school i turn it of in the aftrnoon when my younger two are having a nap and sometimes i dont put it back on until like 5 in evening mostly when my oldest is home and doesnt wana play in her room x

My HV told me how damaging having the TV on all day can be, the "background noise" can stop them focusing on other tasks. So I only have it on when we first get up (so I can sit down and have breakfast and chill!) until milkshake finishes at 9:15. Then it comes on again before bed for bedtime hour on cbeebies. I also turn it on if I want to make dinner and Scarlett is being a pain, so she can sit and watch while I cook x
deleted-user·
Ours is on whenever we are in! Milkshake is on in the morning and then I switch to a music channel. It stays there until about 8pm when he and OH sit down to watch something. I love having the music as thre background noise (although it's mostly adverts!)

Too much some days I'll admit, I even put the music channels on and he'll still stop what he's doing and watch some of the videos. I personally think calling the tv 'damaging' is ott.. x
deleted-user·
My tv is on from the moment I wake to the moment I go to bed.. I'm not always sat watching it but it's on,background sound x
deleted-user·
Oh sod them in r&r! Ours is on all day too, it would be far too quiet if it wasn't x
deleted-user·
Mines all day I feel weird without it on ? saying that I have to have a tv on to fall asleep ha..but Bella won't be always watching she goes do what she wants I don't see a big problem it's just so we ain't sat in silence X
deleted-user·
I put ours on after dinner. They usually pick a film and I limit it because they're glued to it when it's on. It's mostly so I can chill in the afternoon. Then I switch it off for dinner then if they've been good they can choose a program before bed like fireman Sam or peppa pig. If it's my cleaning day I'll put the music channel on but I don't like to since they're then glued to the darn music videos!
deleted-user·
Mines on all day too but again I think it's more the background noise
deleted-user·
Mines on 2 much ?all day aslong as we r in, we go from cbeebies to netflix so she can gav a sing along 2 mother goose club ? i do hate that s*** ? sometimes when i feel like they have been glued 2 it 4 2 long i will put 'my programmes' on then they usually arent interested in it but yeah i couldnt be without the telly !
deleted-user·
Mines on all day for the noise, mias only really interested in postman pat and Mike the knight the rest of the time she won't look at it at all X
deleted-user·
We have it on all day too - R&R is ridiculous. Saw a post about this before and they were like 'my child will only watch ten minutes of TV for a treat once a week' like f*** ing hell get a life ? xx
deleted-user·
Guilty here again it's background noise or for music of like now me catching up on s*** tv as I've been working all week and only day off lol xx
deleted-user·
Mines on all day but I generally just have the music channel on, Millies not interested in tv really xx
deleted-user·
Honestly, sometimes putting the TV on is the only way Sam will eat. If he's not distracted he throws EVERYTHING on the floor, but if the TV is on he'll put food in his mouth without noticing. I wish it wasn't the case, but I don't have time in the mornings before work when we're rushing to get out of the house to fight him and at least he's eating. There's far worse things in the world than a bit of telly xx

Week days TV is on from 6 till bed time. When it's me and Isaac and Sam I will put a Disney movie in the day for Isaac to watch while I clean up. Weekend tv is on and we just chill out and Sunday we have church so not much TV on Sunday. I do enjoy my Disney movies ?
deleted-user·
Mines on all day if we're home, but there not sitting watching it, my 3 year old might sit for half hour at a time at the most X
deleted-user·
Ours is on all day too. If I'm in on my own I have it on even if I'm cleaning or doing something else because I don't like the silence.
deleted-user·
Our tv is on all day when the kids are about, they like to have it as background noise and don't usually sit in front of it for longer than half hour at a time.
deleted-user·
R&r can shove there TV rants where the sun don't shine! I leave it on all day if I'm home just for background noise either on kids channel or music,Riley plays with his toys etc and watches tv when he wants to, Americans are so over the top! ? Xx
deleted-user·
Mines on all day too ? we switch from cebeebies, films and music channel but even when a films on Leo gets bored and goes off to play or we will do painting or something and it's still just on Cus I don't ever think to turn it off. Isabel watches certain shows she loves waybalooooooos and in the night garden but other than that she hardly watches it either unless there's a catchy song. I've never really thought about turning it off in the day tbh x
deleted-user·
This is so reassuring!! ?

I honestly think those mums are lying, I mean who puts the tv on for 10 minutes?? By the time I've chosen something on tv and sat down the 10 mins are up:)))
