Sibling “fun” bag for hospital.
Our eldest daughter (two years old) will be staying with us at the hospital throughout the whole process. Our parents will be there with her for my c-section, but other than that, she’s not leaving.
OMG!!! how lucky you are they let you bring her with you, i am scared of asking my doctor if they allow me to bring my daughter with me, i really dont wanna leave her, I WANT HER TO BE THERE when little sister is born, but who knows if that is even gonna be possible, gonna ask next appointment and see what happens. Bring her snacks LOTS OF SNACKS lol
Thank you, ladies! I seriously appreciate all of the input! She has a baby doll at home that we’ve been practicing diapers with, so we’ll just bring her baby along with some newborn diapers! My daughter still breastfeeds, and when she nurses, she tries to nurse her baby at the same time. So maybe she’ll also “nurse” her baby while I nurse her baby sister. Some little gifts sound awesome, too! Thank you for that Kaity! Maybe some little candies since she’s not allowed a lot of sweets. I’m sure she’d love that.(:
I think this is a great idea! You’re a sweet mama for doing this.
I haven’t read the previous comments but maybe a baby doll with some diapers and bottles, blankets etc. so she gets to take care of a baby just like her mom?
Maybe some little gifts wrapped up and when she starts to get crabby or jealous you could show her that the baby got her a few special gifts.
I don’t know, hope this helped! Lol
I got my 2 year old a present from the baby. It’s got a new baby doll, a new color magic coloring book, a Christmas coloring book, and a puzzle. I’ll also bring some toys from home for when she visits just to keep her occupied. I also think it’s neat they let her stay with y’all in the hospital. Mine doesn’t allow visitors after 9 so this will be the first time she’s going to be without me at night ?? hopefully she will be okay.
Thank you so much for all of the suggestions, ladies! Those are wonderful ideas!(:
Krisi- I understand completely. Her grandparents are amazing with her, I just can’t stand the thought of leaving her. She just turned two the day before Halloween, and has never left me. Ever. And thankfully I’ve gotten the okay that she doesn’t have to now. As long as she doesn’t have a fever, and Hubs is there, she can be there 24/7 with me. Which helps my anxiety SO much.
Moore- That stinks! My hospital has a similar policy. No children under the age of 12, EXCEPT for siblings. Siblings can be there as long as they aren’t presenting a fever, and as long as another adult is with them. Hubs won’t leave my side during the process, and he takes great care of us, so I know it won’t be a huge issue.
She’s a HUGE momma’s girl and loves to just be by my side to snuggle. Once she see’s that mommy has a “boo boo” I’m sure she’ll want to give me all the snuggles and lovin in the world. She’s the sweetest. ??
Love the idea of a doll. I'd bring a little bit of money so your SO and she can go down to the store and get you a treat (and let you rest a minute). If she knows how to take pictures on your phone that would be good. Those are all great helper tasks.
You probably want to do some one on one too with just you and her while baby sleeps or is with Daddy. My daughter LOVES books.
And if all else fails, inflate a rubber glove like a balloon and make her go nuts with it.
I think she’s gonna be the same way. All she talks about is baby sissy and she LOVESS seeing other babies when we’re out and about.
I definitely have her color wonder stuff packed. It’s mess free and only colors on the special paper, so that’s a plus. Her daddy will be there too, and he’s fully capable of running after her, taking her walking around the hospital, and putting her down for naps, bed, etc while I tend to the new baby. I just wanna be sure we have plenty of stuff for her to do in case she gets fidgety.
We did the same when our 2nd was born. Our DD was 3 yrs old. To be honest with you she just wanted to hold the baby. Haha I had her lay with the baby and I in the bed and we watched movies on the tablet, she would help with diaper changes and hold baby bro. My parents would take her to go have a long lunch so I could nap a bit and then she would spend the night but would be back in the AM for breakfast with us.
its time
On our way to the hospital!!
‼️WHATS IN OUR HOSPITAL BAGS‼️
Pictures will be in the comments!
Will they ask my fiance for an ID at the hospital the day our son is born?
I just registered for our hospital tour. I'll be 36 weeks pregnant. 😂😂😂
Short Luteal Phase2
A new post for katie058 and hopefully bcappel soontoo, as ours got too long!
My 14 month old will likely have to be at the hospital with me if this baby comes early... otherwise my mother-in-law will be here to watch him at home. He is a very, very active little boy though so I think it is a lot different... I wish he was interested in being calm and cuddly! And the only interest he has in my baby belly is trying to use it as a trampoline (which of course is a game of catch the flying 20lb monkey for me - not so much fun!).
Do you have games on your phone for her? My little guy loves taking my phone to play his few games :)
