Relactation, kinda
When we went to DD’s 4 month appointment, she hadn’t gained an ounce (and I mean that literally). So I started supplementing, and my supply tanked hard core. So the last 2 weeks I’ve been almost exclusively bottle feeding dd and she’s only been getting the couple ounces I’ve been able to pump out.
It sounds to me like it's important to you, so I vote you should give it a try. Maybe nurse lo first for each feed, then give the bottle.
Or even better, get an SNS and supplement as you nurse.
Frequent feeds (either direct latch or pumping) should help your supply go back up. Drink a ton of water and eat like 600 more calories per day than your normal non-pregnant intake.
And I highly recommend you find a nursing or pumping Facebook group to join. It is sooo helpful.
It’s such an emotional/hormonally driven decision which doesn’t help in the least.
I have a medela double pump. And yes she’ll latch, I tried this morning lol, I got out 4 ounces last bight (it’s been several days since I’ve tried pumping) and less than an ounce this morning. I don’t know why I’m freaking out about it so much. She’s doing great with formula and has visibly already gained weight in just a couple weeks so she obviously wasn’t getting what she needed from me. I think it’s because she may be my last if DH doesn’t come around and emotionally I’m just a mess about it all.
I do think it would be hard work. Only you can determine if you feel strongly enough to be dedicated to it.
You could try pumping every 2 hours for 20 minutes (during the day, and once or twice through the night). Maybe try that for a week, and keep track of your output. See if it feels worth it based on the oz you get.
You could try power pumping too.
Will lo still latch, or no?
Honestly i had thought about relactating at one point but figured the stress wouldnt be worth it. Now my son is 2. He was formula fed and hes perfectly healthy. Dont beat yourself up. In the end your baby just needs to eat. Whether it comes from boobies or a bottle it wont matter. If your child isnt gaining weight then it seems like formula may be the right route.
ETA: i also dont regret not relactating. My son liked his formula. And for me it was the right decision
Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no,
his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me...
TWW!!

Short Luteal Phase?
I've just started temping because I believe that the reason I haven't had a BFP yet, after 20 months, is because I believe I may have a Luteal Phase Defect.
My lactation consultant gave me one for free, but you can also get them on Amazon.
