Petty rant This chaps my hide so bad. I know I shouldn't let it get to me but it bugs me so bad!

That drives me crazy too!

Two weeks ago my car wouldn't start and needed to be towed to the mechanics. The mechanic asked me if my car was in a good spot to be towed and I said "yes, I reverse into my driveway, so it should be easy to tow." He actually said "Wow! That's impressive for a woman, good for you!" ?

Yikes ? I can't believe this still happens! The "your husband" comments have my mouth hanging open. Unreal.

I get this at the mechanics a lot. Or at sale lots when we sell/buy cows ?

My husband is very handy and such, but so am I.

I would have told them if the didn't want your business, you'll go elsewhere.

I go thru this at times. The last one was the refrigerator. I couldn't find the part I needed. It had to be ordered from GE directly.

The worst was a previous obgyn. He would not discuss scheduling my surgery until I brought my husband in.

Even at work I get "you can do that?" Ummm yeah I can it is not rocket science.

Sorry to chuckle but this is too funny. You should bring your husband in when you pick up the part wearing oven mitts and an apron. Make sure you strap a tool belt on your waist and just hope this same old duffer is working.

I get this a lot. Went to a home improvement store to buy a lawn mower. First question the guy asked "What color do you want?" Like igaf about what color it is. I just want it to have a big enough tank to last through most of the yard.

I am a mechanic. Often times when I am ordering parts for my Jeep, the "parts guys" in my local stores are dicks. Act as if I know nothing about vehicles and legit tries to argue with me. Even when I am wearing my shop shirt!! Like, seriously??? I work on much bigger equipment than you, dipshyt. Just get me the part I need and shut the hell up.

Wow can't believe this still happens. It's one thing for him to give you an attitude like you don't know what you're doing but for him to specifically say "ask your husband" that is just ridiculous!

I'm not THAT handy, but I can change my own oil and when our dryer's heating element failed I'm the one who replaced it.

I can (generally) troubleshoot.

It's not a crazy concept but some people just don't grasp that women can be more handy than their menfolk.

Right there with you, Op. If there's a DIY project in my house that needs doing, I'm the one doing it. I've never had anyone be as obvious as that clerk was to you. I've never been "your husband-ed" but I've had sales people be condescending or overly explain things bc it's clear they think I'm clueless. I find it amusing to re-educate them. Politely, of course.

Ugh. This happens to me ALL. THE. TIME.

I don't understand it either lol

High five for being handy gals ?

Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no, his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me and did something else with an other girl.... and it's 10:51 am now and he hasn't texted me at all. and after he dropped me off I texted him saying what I felt and nothing. I don't know if I'm over reacting or what or what should i do. do i wait until he text me?
