I would still use yours. It's an honor to have a child have your last name and if he already isn't trying to claim this baby because he is too busy out being a d*** then he doesn't deserve that honor. Your child will understand. My cousin has 2 kids with the same father he wasn't around for the 1st so his last name is hers (and is about 3-4 years older), the 2nd has dad's last name when he got his sh** together. Both still know they are full siblings and have no problem growing up with mom and dad.

Thanks ladies :). It’s just that I have tried to be nice for so long and keep him involved but it’s useless at this point. I’m doing this alone with support from only my family so it’s only right.

Not at all, if he hasn't really been a support to you then by all means give your baby your last name, I would.
