The sticky traps work good too i just stopped using them because i caught a mouse in one once and the thing struggled so hard he literally ripped half his fur off and one foot and was still laying there twitching and squeaking ! Barf city. I had to have my then 7 year old get a bag and a glove to remove the trap because i was too chicken and he is a brave brave soul.

My family just had a huge mouse problem b/c we live in a town full of trees and forests, and our house is on a hill.

Mice DO NOT live in small groups, they actually live together in large "families" (I forgot the word). When you see a couple, there are dozens that you cannot see. All these traps are essentially worthless.

To deter the mice, remove all food and water sources. Take the trash out frequently, and make access to it difficult. Also, use peppermint oil. Put it on cotton balls and leave it in random places. The smell is incredibly strong for mice and it actually burns their noses, so they flee. But wash your hands after coming in contact with the oil. And close any entry points.

Last resort, call an exterminator. Peppermint oil definitely helped the mouse problem, but an exterminator solved everything.

Following. I was catch them by the way but now I have one the runs into the glue mouse trap and nothing happens, I think it has super powers

I'll have to try the stove hood. Nasty thing was skittering in my stove and in it today as I tried to track it down with a meat tenderizer. Gruesome maybe but I just can't take it anymore.

Stick glue traps on your floor and on counters at "intersections" you can also stick bounce sheets every where to deter them. When they get really bad in the winter I let my barn cats in at night. They love peanut butter. They love beer. And they really like chocolate for some reason-they're forever destroying Halloween candy in the candy drawer.

I think the easiest place to catch a mouse is under the stove hood. I know it sounds gross but I catch them there every time

The only thing with the poison is when it dies and if you can't find it.... You have a rotting carcass somewhere. Try moving the traps around and make sure they are along the perimeter of the room.

And I seriously thought about borrowing a cat, but DH is deathly allergic.

I've used the twisting traps baited with pb. The nasty thing was just scampering on my stove ugh!!!!

Not sure that I'd put poison out either.

Try using dog or cat food in/on the trap.

Get a cat

Anything that smells super potent. Peanut butter, wet dog food etc.

Tie a piece of dental floss to the trigger. They grab it and run home. Use it as nesting material and it pulls the trigger even if they dont touch it.

I'm assuming you've tried placing sticky traps baited with food? And it didn't work?

And don't put cheese on a trap, mice don't actually prefer to eat cheese.

Just put poison were a 2 yr old can not reach. I had same problem and you would be surprised the places mice can go. I have found mouse poop on top of a door frame. Good places would be under the stove, behind refrigerator and washing machines, far back corner of pantry. I like to use the dcon pellets in the yellow triangle box because the poison doesn't actually touch anything.

I don't remember what they are called but, we had to buy these traps that the mouse has to go in and it twists shut. It kills the mouse instantly. You put bait in the bottom, in which that can't actually get to it then, they willingly walk in thinking they found it and SNAP it's dead. You dont have to worry about cleaning up afterwards or seeing the mouse. It's all enclosed

my cat is a great mouser but so is my dachshund. make a petition on facebook, im sure someone has an animal you can borrow!
