Lindsaycb.. Congrats on your pregnancy! Thank you so much for your comment. You definitely give me hope. I have been researching so much my eyes are about to fall out of my head lol. I will continue to do femara unmonitored and hope and pray for God to bless us with a beautiful healthy baby boy. I pray every night if he sees fit to bless my womb to be fruitful.

I was also 34, almost 35 when I was having my fertility treatments. I am 35 now and 25 weeks pregnant. But my insurance also didn't cover infertility treatments. I found out after the 1st month, where I had the follicle scan. $450 each ultrasound. I chose no trigger because of the cost. On my second month I just had the ultrasound to check for cysts at the beginning of my cycle, that was required. So I chose not to have the follicle check or again the trigger. I had lots of pains on both sides during ovulation. I would have loved to know how many & size. As first round of 2.5 mg Femara was only 1 follicle at 18 mm and 2 at 16 mm both on one ovary. I had a lot more pains on both sides but one seemed to stick that time!!

He did order the blood work. It all came back normal. And had everything from my D&C tested as well. Nothing out of the ordinary. He said all my early losses are Mother Nature's way and my body saying there's something wrong that doesn't allow the baby to grow. I was diagnosed secondary because. I have had successful pregnancies. My dds are 17, 7 & 1.. I would like to 1. have a son to give my SO 2. Give my youngest a playmate. It's like I have started all over again with such a huge age gap.. So my Dr is not understanding why it takes 7 to10 years to have a successful pregnancy .. I'm 34.. 35 in August. I'm not getting any younger..

You'll need a panel done to see why the m/c keeps occurring. He can order blood work I would assume. I wouldn't think that's out of his scope but OB are not trained much in infertility.

I don't know. Just going by what my Dr told me. He deals with infertility treatments... He knows my body and cycles and trying to help me out before I take the more expensive routes..

I don't believe that one either. Femara doesn't increase egg quality. The cells takes months to regenerate to make good quality eggs and femara is taken for what 5 days. If you ovulate the progesterone rises but if it's too low you will still m/c. If it's naturally low then suppositories need to be given.

My Dr said the femara will help increase my egg quality and progesterone levels and increase my chances of a healthy pregnancy. All my tests came back normal. I have unexplained secondary infertility he said.

I will echo what the others said. You need an RE. Femora is to help you get pregnant. You aren't having trouble with that. You need testing to find out why you can't stay pregnant.

Have you had repeat loss testing?

I agree you should go to a Reproductive Endocrinologist. It is not cheap, but it's worth it to go to a expert.

I would try going to a RE they are more educated

He's just my Ob.. He's trying to be helpful and give me a boost. As this is my 4th loss.. I won't find out what type of insurance my SO has until after Christmas break. If it covers fertility treatments haha we are getting married sooner

Are you seeing an RE or an OB?

Look on their website. Most of prices up there so it's no hidden surprises.

I asked her how much it would be out of pocket and very rudely said I don't know and our billing department isn't here in our building anymore... I love my Dr.. I just don't like his nurse. She was nice to me in the beginning have been going to him for a year now and I have always been nice to her. I don't know what her problem is but damn she doesn't have to be rude and inconsiderate of my feelings. Well you'll just have to try and get pregnant on your own. You just got pregnant correct? But just miscarried? I said yes. Well you CAN get pregnant. If I could have reached through the phone and choked her I would have :( very unprofessional in my opinion.

Yeah, I have to pay out of pocket too...had to save for a while to be able to.

I pay $260 for a scan!!!

Well you should be able to pay out of pocket for your scans and your shot. I pay $125 for a follicle scan and my injections were $65-75 each then my trigger. I would ask if you can just pay out of pockt

I took Femara and ovulated on my own and I conceived my now 2 year old daughter that cycle. Good luck.

Uh I think the trigger of course releases all the mature ones. I don't know for certain on natural cycles will be the body release all the mature since the body knows it only release one. The trigger continues to mature them for the final stage so I would think the others will start to deteriorate without the final stage.

Keelans_momma as I was holding back my tears the best I could I asked will I ovulate all mature follicles on my own? The nurse said well you should and you would have to pay upfront for a scan and trigger she was really rude about it.. I'm beginning to not like her.
